some things to consider when buying a vpn...

    - Jurisdiction of every VPN company (offshore jurisdiction is OK, U.S. jurisdiction is NOT good).

    - Based in a "fourteen eyes" country? If a VPN provider is on the "fourteen eyes" list - be very careful.

the 14 countries that like to spy and compare notes on each others citizens - Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK, US, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden.

    - Does the VPN provider log any data (Traffic, DNS, IP addresses)?

    - Does the VPN block BitTorrent or other protocols? some do!

    - Does the VPN provider accept anonymous payments via Bitcoin?

    - Does the VPN require user personal information? The good VPNs need e-mail of the user only. No first name, last name, address, etc.

    - How many devices can be connected to the VPN simultaneously?

    - Supported Protocols, OS, devices and many others.

Why is being spied on by one of those countries bad, but other countries in similar Intel sharing pacts not so bad to be spied on by?

    CyberGhost is based in Romania.

Romania is a member of NATO,EU and Interpol. They have hosted CIA blacksites and have us military stationed there.

cyber ghost offers a free service, but i'm not sure if i would trust a free vpn. i'm leaning towards nordvpn since they're in panama.
