Hi, guys, I'd like your opinion on this.

A few years back, let's say 'someone' was 'offered' by the national public TV broadcaster (in his country) to do a report and work on a story about a 'revolutionary' (cooperative) grocery store in a small town, where inhabitants were mostly poor and often old people. He was only 21, and it felt like the most glorious day of his life. He felt both important and useful, and also glad to start earning money.

But, from the get go, they asked him to stage extras in a grocery store setting. Everything looked bogus, and felt like a sham. He began by refusing to be the tool of what he already thought was some sort of a scamming project, and told them it was against the most basic rules of ethics. But the television channel replied: “We will do it anyway, with or without you.” Now, he was recently married, had a few debts, and a child who had just been born. He gave in, eventually. But he refused to sign the report because it was against his principles.

And then he waited for the check. A week, then a month. After 3 months, he started making regular complaints, but each time, he was told: "The check will be sent from one day to the next." After six months, he still hadn't received anything. So he moved around the offices, several times in succession, until he could speak to a manager. And finally, some slimy lizard told him: "You are not entitled to anything since you have not signed anything. No copyright, no salary." The guy filed a complaint, to no avail. You can't win against a TV broadcaster. He sought advice from a lawyer, but it was so expensive that he had to give up.

That happened seven years ago. Two years ago, he learned that the report had been used to defraud people by asking them for a subscription to allow the fake grocery store to survive!

Once again, he couldn't do anything, so he preferred to forget to devote himself to his work... until he saw six months ago that the video of HIS report, designed without his knowledge to defraud people, was posted on Youtube and pushed on HIS very own keywords. This made him completely crazy, furious beyond recognition. How would you react if it happened to you?

Of course. Twice, in fact. To no avail.

I would have been interested in reading your thoughts, though. Life is strange. Apparently, you can't just ignore some problems. They keep reappearing, and reappearing and reappearing again until you stand up, face them and act accordingly. Could be the moral of this story. It's almost mystical, somehow.
