How do you drive traffic to a clients website when there aren't many people searching for the product or service?

I have a client that has a very successful online business, but doesn't have much online traffic.

He has got a lot of his clients from creating offline relationships with them. His business has been in operation for over a decade.

He is wanting to drive more online traffic to his business, as you would, but when I do keyword research there is hardly any traffic for his genre. (ie) no one is searching for what he has to offer.

I'm sure there is a market - right. I mean he has made millions from it.

Usually, I go after hungry markets, but in this case, there doesn't appear to be a market online.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers
    Frank

I am going to use PPC and outbrain next month to drive traffic to his site. So see what happens. Thanks for your suggest though.

Actually, I have done quite a bit of research on his competitors and there doesn't seem to be many of them about. So in-a-way I will be paving the way. Good suggestion though.

Try making an emailing list from your clients' existing customers / client and try to get referal from them.. I think email marketing can help you with reaching out to new and existing customers.

buy targeted ads, it's been mentioned before, but it can't hurt. Try finding a good ad network and see what they can deliver.

Also, focus on Long-Tail keywords. It doesn't matter if there aren't 'a lot' of people searching, it's the quality of the searches.

I'd much rather have a 10 quality leads coming to my site, knowing what they want and buying what I'm offering, then 10,000 random ones.
