A brief introduction. You may have seen my join date - I've been around for a while. In any case, I've never actually committed myself to IM. I'm a designer by trade but I've recently been thinking about actually committing. It would seem that the only thing that I am committed to these days are my committment issues... In any case, I'm determined to make this work and stick at it. So, I came up with a plan of action after coming back here and reading through some threads. There is so much information on here, so many good ideas you can just get lost. It's really motivating seeing people making it work so it's time for a slice of the pie. I actually started 5 days ago and so far so good. Here is the plan and I'll give some stats day by day along with the tasks I have done and plan on doing. Plan of attack: I don't want to reveal my niche - it's quite saturated as it is and at some point I plan on doing some SEO campaigns so I'd rather not say. However, has to do with the tech industry. I spotted a recent beta launch of a product in my niche and decided to apply to the program. There were only a limited number of invites sent out so what I decided to do was to create multiple email addresses and snag as many invites I could get. I got quite a few and decided to use these are a marketing tool. I then created a website. The homepage is clean and simple, all the products are displayed on the homepage with endless scrolling. Having a background in design proved very helpful as it's what I do. So I made it as simple as I could and as good looking as I could. A click on the product takes you to the product details page and from there straight to the affiliate link selling said products. The idea around the website is to find the cheapest deals for users. It's a deals website filled with affiliate links - but each page is full of product details and images for SEO purposes. My SEO campaigns will come at a later date though. For now it's bare bones. I have also created a facebook page, a youtube, and a twitter account. Back to the beta invites. After the facebook page was completed I decided to search on twitter, reddit and a few tech forums for people asking for invites. Many larger forums had entire threads dedicated to invites and people asking for them. So I decided to capitalise on it. I decided to create a splash page on my site and made it look like a beta invitation page. Users enterted their email addresses (which was clearly stated). This of course was a mailing list. I managed to snag 69 emails. Some complained on forums about it being a random mailing list - I'd always respond to these ones directly and send them an invite, at which point trust was established and some even went onto plug me on Twitter and the forums themselves. On Twitter I simply searched for those looking and sent out a number of tweets in regards to the invites. Got some response and asked for followers. Follow me = invite. Boom. The response hasn't been as good naturally, but I'm on 33 followers so far. On my facebook page - for every other offer I was promoting on my site I'd promote on facebook too. I then added another post that stated a facebook page like = an invite. I decided to promote the page. The advert was to do with the site and the deals I was finding. I had quite a good response. In the last 5 days I've gotten 70 likes total on my facebook page. Spent $12.97 on ads. I changed it a number of times because it wasn't getting the response I wanted. In any case it's off for the time being. The website stats themselves are as follows for the last 5 days: Unique Users: 32 Amazon Stats: Unique Users: 44 Clicks: 62 Items Ordered:1 I also have a few other affiliate offers I am promoting but revealing the site would expose the niche. In any case, those starts are as follows: Unique Users: 21 Clicks: 27 So to recap: Facebook likes: 70 Twitter followers: 33 Mailing list: 69 Plan tomorrow: - Work on my homepage and get a few things sorted and ready for my SEO campaign. - Keep checking my associates account with false hopes. Anyway, I plan on updating this as often as I can. This is all new to me but so far so good, it's quite fun once you get going!
