    just had a quick question.
say i find a longtail keyword that is specific to a particular product, it gets 5K monthly local searches and the competition is low. Is setting up a site JUST FOR that keyword a bad idea? example: make a site with the exact keyword domain, write some unique articles, throw it some backlinks, and put up some adsense? good idea or just a waste of time?

If there are Adsense ads that would generate revenue, it's a good idea.

Google the keyword and see if any ads come up, if they do, then those will likely appear on your site and will work well.

Great idea, but I wouldn't go for product name like canon printer DP1000.
1). Canon can take your domain.
2). Alot of people who search this keyword already bought the product and are looking for drivers and such.
