A service that recovers blocked / hacked / stolen account, do they know something we don't?

My local Tv station did an item on some guy who recovers blocked / hacked Instagram accounts for people and charges around 100$ for that, claiming to have had around 1500 successful restores (backed by evidence). That's a lot of money.

I couldn't help but think, what's so special about this, why and how does he get so many people to pay him those amounts instead of trying to recover on their own? Could he do anything other than going through the official Instagram recovery system?
Is there anything else to the recovery process that "normal" people cannot do or aren't aware of? just out of curiosity..

Hell, it seems like the easiest money in the world

I have tried 2 of these services, and both failed. All they do is pound the recovery system. 1500 restores seems unrealistic without tens of thousands of failures.

Maybe he is a lawyer

Once read about a similar guy who offered same kind of service, but for game accounts, World of Wacraft in this case. You were able to send a custom message explaining the situation, so he used that to his advantage by crafting a good response there. Maybe Instagram recovery system allows for a text message as well? Then you try to say the right things if you know what they are looking for and they might let you loose.

I'd prefer reselling such a service to doing the job myself. It requires lots of patience and consistency. IG rarely reply those messages, the right way is to keep sending until they is a response from a customer care person.

and getting a reply from insta support amounts to a swing and a miss .
