Hi BHters- in this post I need the help of [sorry guys] Whters. But if urabhtr and you have the knowledge you can post it here. My conclusions are not in the stone but I'm writing after years of experimenting -testing ups and downs ,mostly ups. Now I face some great dilemas. This post says maybe nothing to noobs ,and for people who wanna make fast-cash-money-bank-I'm-going-to-waste-my-life types, but I urge you to stay updated with it's content as I'm sure many of you will find valuables lessons by savvy members on BHW. Let's begin: 1 sentence background : I bought an aged domain with pr3 on the homepage. 3 problems; googlewise, site-constructual-wise, googlewiseagain? : a) I want to use it for other niches that have some to do with the old one b) It is shit blasted with the old site's backlinks - [I don't bother to check how many because it is a pr3 which means it's trusted] c) SOME OF THE OLD CONTENT WILL BE PUBLISHED ON THE NEW ONE [now that I'm going to build it] Explaining myself about the 3 above: a) People who enjoyed visiting the old site come back with their bookmarks and bounce faster than I spend my money on gas for my mazda b) shit blast of backlinks creating piles of shit404 pages- please check before you buy. It is true they supported the old pr3ed site but now they create tons of 404s and this is bad. [tons] c) I am going to publish some of the content the previous owner published but he did it with html- I'm with wordpress. Traffic is stable,3000 a day - the old owner had a %67 bounce rate I have %10. His visit length was 1:25 min mine is 8:04 so you see, the first tiime visitors enjoy the benefits of my kingship. I take care of my visitors- ALWAYS GIVE YOUR VISITORS WHAT YOU HAVE PROMISED.I hope I didn't forget any important data. My wondering about the SEO : Searching on google for domainname.com [oops did I reveal my niche?] gives about 170,000 results ,the new sute has only 54 submitted urls. You can fix this in 2 [or] 3 ways: #1 Go to wordpress and install a plugin called "redirections" - a very easy to use plugin, put the source url and target url- pretty much like on #2 cpanel but mine didn't work for some reason. #3 on webmaster tools you can request a url removal. It takes a little time to approve it,maybe they are checking the urls manually [but it doesn't make any sense] But this is easy. Here is the SEO conflict: To be or Not to be, here is the question! take a look on this url ,it ends with .html, it's indexed in G and probably other SE too, and it's the same content that is going to be published next month on the new site,in the meanwhile it creates 404s. "mydomain[dot]com/oldcontenttobeuploadedsoononwordpressIcan'tbelieveyouarereadingthisrightnow.html" To be - let the url live! redirect it with 301 to the new content on the site , or, Not to be - kill the mf with g webmaster tools ,but it has puppy eyes you. So- in case you survived my awful writing AND understood the dilemas, here is the time I let the keyboard cool a bit, alongside with my carpal tunnel. Any missing data? Post,ask,say,do.Thanks.
