I spoke to a rep from G today through a friend that works closely with them.

They said - "Google fucked up when they did the last big change....they were mainly going after placeholder sites etc but their algorithm mixed good sites up BUT still obviously leaving the placeholder, arbitrage type sites out"

Basically folks, it's just a hold your breath and wait situation. Don't do anything STUPID

We already knew this, G made a statement saying they made a mistake a few days ago.

Not everyone saw that statement. Though i did, i thought the credibility would be increased coming from an actual source from the company and not matt cutts google+ profile. My bad, bro.

I'm building some web 2.0 point to my money site, dont know if that is stupid or not? In my niche, after recent update, i see very high authority sites like Amazon and Wikipedia was pushed up, however some blackhat sites with 1-3 posts also jump ahead. I have no idea what G are doing.

Just don't make a DRASTIC change to your site that will make you look weak and scared. Basically the cure for this problem is time. Of which i think we all have none, but we have no choice.

Nothing new here but Matt really is a dbag! It's really pissing me off not knowing if i was affected by G's effed up classifier and when will i regain my previous positions if i was. He popped in and answered some stupid ass questions and not the one's people want to know. I hope Apple does create a kick ass search engine just to f_cK with them.

All my sites got hacked a dropped out and I figured it was due to the redirect on all my sites. Thank God all of my sites have already jumped back up.

Anyway cheers for the credible source. It's nice to hear from "real" people and not Matt Cutts all the time.

This is why competition in markets is needed. Google can do crazy things that affect millions of people without having to answer to anyone.

Apple, Microsoft...someone needs a search engine/advertising network to make G straighten up.

Hit the nail on the head there! Thanks for posting this too, I'm not on BHW 24/7 so I didn't see the announcement Google made about the mistake so this helped me realize why 90% of my sites dropped.
