So I have found a clean expired domain but they have recently been 301'd to the owners new domain and then left to expire.

If I re-register will the links pointing to the domain still carry weight or did the 301 kill them?

    Thanks.

If there's no 301 anymore then you should be able to get some, probably not all, juice back

Of course they will still carry weight for foks sake. It will take a month or two before Google realizes that the domain is no longer redirected (may not be that long after the recent update), but it will be as good as it was before the redirect. Why people even think that domain will lose the power after the redirect? That's so absolutely illogical I can't even find words.
