    Guys.

Just starting to set up a website to possibly sell / possibly 'giveaway' bots.
Now, from the buyers side of things, what would be preferable:

    1. Bots with a limited 'Lite' version so you can try before buying the 'Pro' version with all features enabled.

    2. Totally free but full featured bots that will have a function in them that will take you to a site, click a link / fill in an email submit etc to make a few cents for the seller.

    3. None of the above, but you have a better idea.

Cheers all - looking forward to your comments :)

or you could make bots that make YOU money.

You're planning ahead of yourself. First you do research, find out what bots people need. Then you make the bot and then you decide whether you want to release the 'trail' version or not.

If you're a good coder, instead of giving people away free money (your bots), learn IM and make bots that work for you! I have developed shit loads of bots, but I have never released one and the ones that make me money, I never will

Also keep security in mind. An effective way to protect your bot is using authorization via network using unique serial keys for each customer. You can make it even more pain in the ass to crack by making custom protocol between bot and server and make the bot 'ask permission' for specific actions.

Hope that helps and good luck to you! :D

The OP never said he was going to release things that make HIM money. The question is how to earn from tools.

To 2: Leaving it in the hands of the user to make you money voluntarily is a lost cause. Most simply think it's too much hassle to follow a plea from the developer.

To 1: In the demo only enable some (or all) of the features that absolutely work 100%, like an OBL counter. Block features that are somewhat hard to be made to always work, like a df checker.

If I were you I would go down the whole "lite" and "pro" version, tried and tested model, the CPA submit thing would never make enough money

@ fatboy, you can code a 7 days full working version so that people can try all the features and when you plan to sell, just put up a clause which says, no refund will be entertained because there is a full-featured product which can be tried for 7 days.
