What I mean is - a high ranking and well known site copy and pasted one of my blog posts and credited me but only in words - not by a ******** link. So, my question is, is Google gonna blame me for MY content being duplicate? You see what I mean? I contacted the webmaster to say, "Hi thanks for quoting me but any chance you can physically link?" - But no reply. Its not a deal breaker since I am sure Google will just negate the content but im more interested to see what you think - thanks.

If your content was indexed before that site, then I think there should be no problem.

As above, sure you will be ok since the content was on your website first.
Being mentioned sans link is better than not being mentioned at all, so don't pester them, but you never know, they may come back after the holiday period and give you the link you asked for.

For next time, you should look at this - http://tynt.com/

If you are not getting any benefit then you should tell him to delete your content.

i agree if you posted it first then you would not have any problem but when you are not getting any profits then why is that site using your content, you must ask them to delete your post.

You may also just benefit from the mention. I heard on an SEOMoz White Board Friday that co-citations (mentions of your website on websites, without a physical link) may be one important factor for ranking websites in the near future. May already be now
