Why you should be using Satellite Sites

    Satellite sites represent a simple concept that helps you archive 2 major key points of your business;

    -Traffic

    -SEO

    Traffic

The more traffic sources you have, the greater your chances of making sales or collecting leads.
This sites aren't as complex as your money-site but in order to stay safe and to make them able to drive traffic you need to keep a decent level of quality in your building process.

A big plus of this strategy is that you'll have a lot of pages flowing inside search engines, which in most cases, will be ranked across your main site on the front page. I will point out that the more impressions you get, the more chances you have to grab the attention of visitors.

    SEO

Although this sites will be ranking for low competition/traffic terms this doesn't mean they can't hold a huge seo power. Imagine having 20-30 sites, all with PA/DA above 40,and all of them linking contextually to you. Across with a few other links, you'll have a really big chance of hitting the top 3 spots for your main keyword in no time.

In terms of safety, you should stay under the "white-hat" side using this strategy. If you build your satellite sites properly, each of them focusing on a different aspect of your business, you should have no problems at all. Some extra measures like different c class ip may be helpful if you build a huge number of these.

    What you need

    1.Authority Domains

    What we aim for

    • [*=1]Age: 3/4+ Years

    • [*=1]PA:40+

    • [*=1]DA:40+

    • [*=1]MozRank:2.5+

    • [*=1]Backlinks: 500-1000+

It may sound expansive if you haven't done this before, but the truth is that domains with the above requirements can be bought for as low as 10-12$ and they are really easy to buy and setup.

    How is that possible?

Trough the help of Expired Domains :)

Expired Domains are domains that were dropped by their owners and became available to register. As you probably know, they still hold a big portion of authority and link juice and that's why we're going to use them.

There are more ways of doing this, but an easy and less costly one is by using http://www.expireddomains.net .
If you register for their free account, you'll get access to a lot of nice filters so I suggest you do it.

Also, this guide will help you a lot trough this part, you may want to have it saved.

    Domain Registration

As LBrown said in his tutorial, you don't want to search for a coupon or a voucher every time you register a new domain or you do a renewal. We all want something that's cheap all the time, that's why I'll recommend NameCheap and InternetBS.The price to register a new domain is around 10-12$/year and you get free privacy, which is a major advantage.

    2.Hosting

As I said before, you may want an extra layer of security so choosing different hosting companies for each 2-3 sites should help you feel more confident.
Considering you'll need a few of these, you don't want to spend too much money on hosting,so I suggest you choose between the cheapest but stil reliable companies available.

An easy way to find them
    https://www.google.ro/search?q=1%24+hosting&oq=1%24+hosting&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.1907j0j4&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8

    3.Content

Your target per site should be minimum 5 articles to start with and another 5-10 to have the site updated constantly trough the coming weeks.I usualy prefer to have all the content uploaded at once, and than have 1 article/week scheduled for publishing in the next 2-3 months.Having your site updated with fresh content after beeing setup will give you many advantages.

Depending on the volume, you should begin by focusing each site on a different sub-niche of your business. For example,if your site is about Christmas Songs, your satellite sites can target keywords like,"International Christmas Songs" or "Christmas Songs in Latin".

Most likely, you'll want to oursource content writing so I'll help you out by pointing out some well known sources:

Freelancer.com - Perfect for hiring freelancer on full/part-time basis

Odesk.com - Perfect for hiring freelancer on full/part-time basis

iwriter.com - Good to get articles at fixed rates in a timely manner

BHW - Great for finding deals

    4.Seo Tools - Extra Boosting

In order to maintain and raise the power of your satellite sites, you'll need to do some sort of constant promotion, else, depending on your competition and volume of sites, you might get a harder time ranking.

An easier, less aggressive promotion can be done trough Social Bookmarks,Social Signals,Doc Sharing, etc.(less costly too)

Unfortunately,we all know that we can't play fair all the time. There are some niches that are impossible to break with completely legitimate ways, and that's why we need all the help we can get.The other way around, the aggressive promotion may be done by adding an extra layer filled with as many links as possible.

For this purpose,I found GSA to be one of the best for his ability to constantly scrape and submit content to a huge number of platforms.
From this point,it becomes a matter of needs and tastes as to what type of content to use, what quality as well as the volume of links.Although,I do suggest you use your exact match keywords in a very small percentage,as you want this sites to be ranking too.

Some people fighting in rough niches use to 301 aged domains to this sites also, but that's another subject for another section.

Good stuff. Satellite sites are easy to build and recreate in case you get hit with a penalty. Great tips!

Excellent. I have been looking into expired domains the last week. I found one a couple of days ago but I'm not sure on a couple of things. Would be great if you, or someone else could chime in and help me clear up a couple of things.

The domain I found is from Australia. I take it these are still helpful links depending on PA/DA/ etc.?

Ahrefs would only show me 5 of 13 links. These links were very good. Three of them .edu from the domain country.

OSE shows eight links, all very good. DA/14/ PA 28

Majestic shows 24, of which I can only see 5. They are the same as Ahrefs. Good Links.

Of the links I can see, two educational ones are pr5 and another educational of pr3

The domain looks the same in the wayback machine. The domain is about farmyard machinery. Built with html. I wouldn't recreate the site, probably just five pages similar as possible, with similar images and content. Then redirect the missing urls back to my imitation wordpress installation?

I could use this domain to link back to a new authority site I'm getting together based on voidrays thead and advice from BTB. Would you pick up this domain with above information?

I tried to buy an Australian Domain a few days ago,but I noticed that you need to be from Au in order to purchase .com.au domains.Yes,the PA/DA is still valid and if you're looking to rank in AU,it's going to work even better.
