Basically i live in UK but my origin is Albanian, and as i was for holidays on my country, i saw a very interesting video about a very intelligent man who was ready to calculate up to 20 value numbers like 1750000 * 5710000 (Things like that) Faster than calculators.
The sad truth is that, this guy is considered as a homeless and a stupid man. People on his village treat him as a funny object which solve any mathematical, chemistry or physic problems.

I know that you won't understand the language but you may see the calculator on the video, and the numbers he says are all the same as the calculator show.

I had a chance to meet this guy and YES he is completely a genius.

My son was watching a show recently and they had a guy like that http://www.history.com/shows/stan-lees-superhumans/videos/human-calculator Pretty impressive, they testing him and he got everything right and faster then they could get the answer from the calculator. Don't recall if they actually do the math or just see the answer. Not sure if that makes them a genius but def impressive.

Since this topic is about math, Ill share this. http://listverse.com/2007/09/17/10-easy-arithmetic-tricks/ It helps you learn the tricks to do math quicker in your head.

I wanted to say something like, "Oh this shows that people only care about Jersey Shore and Jack A$$" :D but that wouldn't be true. That's just a fantasy I have.

Hopefully somebody finds a use for his mind instead of leaving him to rot at home. If I was a villager, and if I had any aspirations I would be trying to leave the village by going to school, I would be begging this genius to do my homework. Of course I would pay him for his trouble.

If you are in UK or US start a coaching program with a tagline like "we will make you a freaking maths genius" or create a product on "Never before seen mathematics shortcuts from a maths genie" :D

Unfortunately, many that are very, very intelligent are also often incapable of interacting with most "normal" people because they are so distracted by their own thoughts that many think they are stupid, and the more intelligent they are the worse this perception can get. I've dealt with a few of these people in my life.

But, there are also many versions of savantism, in which although the person is ridiculously skilled in one very specific thing, such as doing extremely hard math calculations or playing a musical instrument perfectly without ever being taught, in every other aspect of their intellectual and emotional lives they are handicapped (retarded), and will need help even for simple life tasks.

Based on what I see in the video, he is a savant and deserves help from those around him, not ridicule... But, I am no doctor and no genius, so take that for what its worth.

Thats exactly what I was going to say. Many savants are incapable of normal social interactions.

Alarming as it may sound, I think this kind of treatment is quite common. I was at school with a guy who had a similarly prodigious skill at maths. He was able to calculate the square roots of random 6 or 7 digit numbers almost instantaneously. Clearly he had an incredible mind.

Sadly, he was bullied horrifically throughout his school life. Every day, you would see him surrounded by crowds of kids, taunting him and making him 'perform' for them. More often than not he would end up cowering beside a wall while they threw abuse at him (both verbal and physical - even to the extent that he was stabbed in the stomach once with a Stanley knife). He was of a very nervous disposition, and never retaliated. Nobody ever really intervened. (I'm slightly ashamed to say that I never did anything to help him, but in my defense I was about 3 years younger, and wouldn't have stood a chance against the baying mob. What amazes me in retrospect is that I'm sure the teaching staff knew EXACTLY what was going on, but they turned a blind eye to it.)

This was quite a few years ago. I heard subsequently from a mutual acquaintance that he ended up going off to university and got himself a decent degree, but from what I hear he has never managed to secure a job of any kind. Just recently, I've passed him in the street a few times over the past couple of years, and frankly he looks like a wreck. If you didn't know any better, you would mistake him for a homeless guy. To any passer-by who doesn't know any better, the assumption would probably be that he is retarded, purely because he has quite limited social skills as a result of his utter lack of confidence (all of which, I'm sure, stems from those years of bullying he endured).

I have tried to speak to him once or twice, but he just flinches and hurries away. Clearly he doesn't recognise me (and there's no reason why he should, as I was about 12 when he was 15 or 16, I guess). In his mind, I'm probably just another potential attacker.

    It's very, very sad.

Dammit, he deserves to work in a university in Germany.
But good to see some more Albanian fellows here.

That the people in the village make jokes of him,
    is nothing special in Albania.

Do people that can calculate the multiplication of large numbers in their head, able to do so because they learned the tricks to calculate them faster then "manually" doing it in your head? If that is the case, you could create a product telling the math tricks and make a lot of money, especially from parents that want their kids to be very smart.

And you asked him to come on board to your next IM project which is an eBook about getting ahead in life with calculations, or just an interview which you can put half way through your book then dissect his responses into simple "fluffy" terms. Then created a page for a keyword that has about 800 direct competition sites and 80,000 monthly search for exact match...Right? :pirate:

Well it is not a trick, it is a gift from the God. He is able to solve mathematical, chemistry and other physic problems. It is not just a trick to calculate numbers, he can solve different mathematical problems which a professor in university will take sometime to solve.

You made me laugh my friend LOL. The part of the 80,000 monthly exact searches ahahaha.
No, i just had a chance to talk to him, and yes i made some questions (Mathematical Problems) Which he solved very fast. (The same mathematical problems that i've learned in Mathematical Analysis in Computer Sciences).

Even if it's here a blackhatforum, I wouldn't personally benefit from someone else skills, especially from him. I just wanted to show the world, how some genius are treated.

But if someone learns the faster way of multiplication and practices for years, couldn't they be just as impressive?

Damn, I wish I had this guy in my class when I was in high school :D
But leaving jokes apart, it is very sad that a guy with a genius mind like that is treated that way.. I'm albanian too and unfortunately guys like him are always treated bad by the society, this is the mentality there :(
