“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” ― Lao Tzu

Hello friends and foes, I have decided to start a journey thread, not the typical one, but not so different from any other. I've long wanted to start one of these, way before there was even a section for these but just never got around to it. I've thought of starting this one for a while now, it was originally going to be titled something along the lines of "£100 Million in 7 years" but I thought that would be somewhat limited to one thing, money. I also thought of calling it "A Journey of Transformation" but ended up sticking with the above.

I'm in a point in life where I'm not doing much, I don't have much to show for and I don't really know what I want to do. What I do know, is that I've got to do something. I've got huge ambitions, and if only my drive to act on these was a fraction of that of the ambitions, I'm sure I wouldn't be complaining.

This is a journey of transformation, physical, mental and of the soul. I will be setting short and long term goals, I will be looking into my values, my personal development, organizing my life, creating lists of things I want to try in life and so forth.

I don't know how well this thread will play out, hopefully it won't die like some of them do, I can guarantee to keep it updated for at least a year from now, but what happens after depends on how time consuming this will be and how I'll progress. I'll try to share anything that keeps me going and any motivational material I create or come across.

    Let the journey begin!

    Good luck buddy!
Set yourself easy to accomplish targets, and don't miss any of them.

If you need a partner for the physical part, let me know! I'm planning to start jogging 3-4 days per week as a beginning.

I AM BACK, and unfortunate as it is, this thread ended up dead sooner than I thought it would. It looks like I have a lot of work to do and more importantly I need to focus on making my words count. I've made a guarantee which I did not keep, and this has become an immense personal failure as it has shifted onto other areas in my life. Come to think of it this failure to stay true to my words has probably been something that has been around for much longer and way before even becoming a member of BHW. Not staying true to your words is probably one of the most negative traits you can develop and especially hard to deroot considering the nature of language and how our opinions and understandings constantly shift based on the constant influx of new information.

So to return to this journey thread, I will start with a fresh guarantee, a guarantee that I will be able to keep and stay true to. This time I can guarantee to keep this thread alive and updated for as long as I continue to participate within the BHW forums. I won't be setting any particular update intervals as I wouldn't want to lock myself down but I can assure to post updates where progress is made.

"A Journey of a Thousand Miles" is in other words a journey for life, be it within the BHW community or elsewhere, if time calls to move on, so be it.

But for now, lets rock the boat like never before! :yeah:

You shouldn't guarantee something to people who you do not owe anything. Just do your work and update when you can, nobody can judge you, don't let social pressure impact your life ever. Be independent. ;) Luck is not the need you would have, so I wish you productivity and bright ideas of execution. :) Remember, ideas are worth nothing, execution makes difference. ;)

Yeah, I know, It's more of a personal guarantee, to stay true to myself.
