A great classifed ad starts with a slightly f*ck*d up head.

Anyway, on a serious note: I checked all of the papers in my area in the classifieds section and it seems that the majority of them don't even have a personals section anymore. Is this the same everywhere, or just in my small corner of the country.
Maybe they caught onto the ewhores? I have no idea, but I was thinking of putting ads in the paper, but I guess that may not work out......

Unfortunately, newspapers and the concept of actual news is a dying one in the US. In all honesty, outside of using it for making money, I despise what the internet has become and have found myself online less and less for anything other than $$$ but that is where the readership from newspapers has gone.

The attention span of the coveted 18-34 year old market (and the population in general) is about 5 seconds at best so news has been reduced to tweets and shit like that. Hence, actual newspapers found themselves with less and less readers. That reduces advertising revenue while production costs are going up. The end is near for many traditional newspapers and you are seeing it in radical cutbacks in many sections that were once quite large, i.e. classified.

Where I live, the only remaining big paper has become a joke and a shell of it's once former self.
Pretty fucking sad if you ask me.

I like to read the paper - in print - with my breakfast.

You really just can't beat that... it sits so well right under my plate.

newspaper advertising is dead. unless you are pushing products geared toward the geriatric population. the car dealership i worked for wasted $1500 a couple of months ago on newspaper ads. maybe like 4 phone calls but no sales. with craigslist i made at least 30-50 extra sales this year.

    but that's hilarious though.
