Hey everyone I was running a file hosting and uploading site until a couple of days ago when host gator took it down for being a "file dump". Does anyone know of a good host to use for file hosting? I know a dedicated server will probally work but it would be so expensive for the amount of space and bandwith I will need. Thanks in advance.

You might want to talk to PanamaHosting, I have not used his services, but I know that he specializes in that sort of thing.

In general, though, depending on what sort of files your sharing service is talking about (assuming you are running it like a clone of RS or something), you can probably get by with VPS, and spend a lot less than dedicated, but not worry about getting your card pulled for being a file dump, because, in essence, you can do whatever you want with your VPS, and it won't affect anyone else on the machine. Just take care to read your contract on bandwidth, because on a lot of VPS plans, they will let you go over, then bill the crap out of you for it.

panama or servage might allow it.

gotta be careful with gator. they've
a good rep, but i've had some issues
with them recently so i may move to
another host.
