There are many ways to disturbte your business card or flyer offline
You can place them in a busy place and wait on people to pick them up .. this takes months.

    OR

you can put your business card in a zippo bag with some candy/chocolate and it will be gone in a few days or hours

    Good luck BHW

Tip: put them in a place free of kids like a college or an office :D

    Nice idea, but i dont understand;
If i put chocolate + business card; if someone picks it up; he/she must be interested in the chocolate more than my business card, hence, my card will be easily thrown away along with the wrapping?

From my perspective, i guess the moral is that whoever picks up the package is interested in the content inside, not the card.

If you are doing either of these tactics you are wasting time and funds distributing business cards.

These leads are so cold it is ridiculous. In lead acquisition you need to focus more on who needs your service and not just brand exposure (your concept is great for brand exposure on a small scale, but what you really need in order to grow is conversion marketing).

    Ask yourself:

    Who needs my business?
Why is it they need my business?
Do I know people that need my business?
Do my current clients know people that need my business?

Start focusing on getting your cards into the hands of people that meet your criteria and need your service rather than just who ever likes chocolate since those are two very distinct demographics. I love chocolate but I don't need a new roof right now.

This is an extremely rough method that will likely do absolutely do nothing for you as it is. If you take two scenarios -
A: Cards in a stack with no candy; result: slow distribution
B: Cards paired with candy; result: fast distribution

The only changed variable is the prescence of candy, therefore the only thing that can be concluded is that people only want the candy, as the above posters said.

Now, if you happened to have a candy shop and you left samples of your product paired with a business card, people may be more inclined to come buy from you. But you still have to take into account that people are only thinking in the moment, as in, "Oh look, free candy right in front of me. I'll take it," not "Oh look, free candy, I will take it now in consideration of future candy purchasing options."

How about wrapping candies in soft wrappers printed with your business details?

One good way to get good return is make your card into a magnet. Costs less than a quarter, and the card will stick around quite a while after distributed. Cards either get lost or put in binders. When I was in supply, I had hundreds in a case from various vendors. The magnets however, I would put on the filing cabinet next to my phone...we all did. Sift through hundreds or pick from the three on the cabinet or fridge? Not a hard choice for most. I've had friends that did that for web design and they've said that it returned the most customers out of his advertising methods.

Its like the football matches people only watch them for the game, but commercials are there, not everyone will care about the commercials but some people will buy the advertised product.

If you distribute your card in a college for an academic book offer CPA it well convert & you will get leads.

I work Downtown Chicago and every morning there is hobo giving a flyer to every person that walks by... Must be working, cause he has been there for months now.

    Hello friends,

Great posts. Was blown away from your postings and I also have a really clever way to keep in contact with my leads and clients. You can do this with a mouseclick and would love to show you BHers to get your opinion.

Please drop me a quick message if you would be open to chatting about it.

    Peace!

How about this novel f*cking idea called shaking someone's hand and handing it to them during conversation so you don't waste money burning through cards.

So you're saying your method is feasible for that? Wrapping 50,000 cards with candy and giving them to a university?

Your argument makes absolutely no fucking sense.

Call me paranoid, but I doubt I would ever pick up an unattended bag of candy or chocolates and start eating them. No matter who's card was in there.

Your biz-cards / candy-package idea could well succeed in case one would print a website url on them which would be redirecting to some co-related CPA offer - e.g. a starbucks gift card offer (paying ca $1.60 right now) for a package containing for example a small piece of chocolate one would pretty much appreciate being able to enjoy while drinking coffee or something in that sense, if you know what I mean ...
