A few questions

Hey guys, I have a few solid state laptops sitting around collecting dust, and another desktop doing the same thing. I heard that those can be used to mine coins, but I haven't started yet because I only know about bitcoins. I have a couple questions.

Can someone point me in the right direction on what coins are good to mine now? (I'm also searching the thread too!)

Is it possible to put these computers to work to make a little money on the side?

If you think mining coin can be made with any old pc then I have bad news for you...

You need a pretty powerful pc to mine coins 2000$ and not even that you need multiple to make significant profit.

Oh...why do people mine coins then? Like, I heard if you get into a group, it's easier to mine bitcoins (but I know the algorithms are up there now for bitcoins...). Would you say it would be wise to monetize some other method, save up for the good pc, then mine coins then?

The reason I'm asking is because on other forums, I've asked of some ways to monetize, and this is literally the first thing that a lot of people told me. ALSO, I just wanted to know if there was any good thing I could do with these pc's that I have lying around right now instead of collecting dust.

You could setup a couple servers and bots.

Ha, yeah BHW is pretty awesome, I see a lot of methods that I want to try and tweak! When you say setup a couple servers and bots, are you talking about for mining or for something else? (I think it may be obvious that I know very little about mining coins lol)

No not mining, you can just forget the whole BTC mining, the days one guy can mine are over, Chinese BTC farms can't be beat.

The bots I meant are automation bots for your social media accounts and blogs.

You can still make a profit GPU mining altcoins depending on how much you have to pay for electricity etc...and you always have the possibility that the coins you mine will increase a lot in value (no guarantee though).

Ah, I gotcha. Thanks a lot, I need to look into how to utilize those bots. I don't have a website yet, but I have access to some free ones with a siterubix extension, and I'm already accepted by a CPA network OGads. I guess I'll get there lol

Sweet, thanks for that! I think that last one was important, I know bitcoins were out, but I didn't know what other currencies there were...like I heard of altcoins at least.

what you could do is sell those pc and invest it into ethereum. It's going up and will be bigger than bitcoin FO SHO.

I actually had considered doing that too just a few minutes ago LOL. I was looking at ethereum too from the links above...it doesn't seem like it requires much power actually.

Forget about mining bro, chinese farms can't be beat, and I doubt you have pc laying around which can mine ethereum and other coins efficiently. Just sell em and invest into cryptos like ethereum.

As someone said here the only thing you can do is gamble mining on some altcoin then hope it goes up if it does you win if it doesn't you loose.
