I currently use blogger, but it seems Wordpress has more capabilities so I may look into it. However, I heard there are two Wordpress services: wordpress.com and wordpress.org. I'm assuming wordpress.org is the only way to install those premium theme templates and such and also install plug ins.

If I was to set up a wordpress account and wanted to install all sorts of neat things, how would I got about this?

I appreciate any help and if there's a walkthrough on doing this, please link me. I hate taking up unnecessary space on the forums.

Please note if there is coding involved, I may be a little slow so please bear with me.

    Thanks guys!

if you want to get serious about blogging then get your own domain name and hosting. A domain name is $7.50 for a year through godaddy.com & you could even use free hosting if you dont want to pay the usual $5-$10 a month for it.

When you have your own domain you can download and install wordpress onto it so you have access to an almost unlimited supply of plugins & themes.

+ you will be able to make extra sub domains like http://cheese.yourdomain.com & http://chalk.yourdomain.com with their own seperate blogs on them.

Wordpress is the way to go.
    1. Got to bluehost.com or lunarpages.com and buy a domain that represents what the site is all about. For instance, if you're going to do a website on Fishes and Marine life you might want to name it fishandships.com. It you're serious about blogging, this is what you need to do.

    2. Search this forum for PLUGINS. PLUGINS allow you to fully customise your blog the way you want it.

    3. You can pick up coding along the way. It's not neccessary, but may help. Any other questions, feel free to PM me, I'll walk you along the way.

And now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

Yeah as everyone has said getting your own domain and hosting, is the only way to go, it so straight forward and takes 5 mins to set up, once it is installed look for all the plug ins you need, which you can find on here, I have quite myself, find yourself a nice theme again they can be found on here, I got lots of them of here, setup up your blog and away you go.
If you have any problems message me or leave a question on here and someone is sure to help you.
P.s if you need help with auto blogging I can't help lol I have never done that yet.

yes true, if you buy own hosting and a domain you can access to your fantastico and build a website within 30 seconds using the installer.

put a nice theme, download the necessary plugins and you have a site in 1 hour...

most of the useful plugins can be found in autoblog post around bhw so just look for them. i would recommend buying a host at hostgator and register a domain at godaddy.

You can't install theme/plugin in wordpress.com. No freedom there, must get your own domain and hosting service.
