Hi BHW! I?ve been a lurker here for a few years and finally decided to get more involved. I?m starting this journey thread to keep me accountable -- I hope some of you at least will enjoy reading it and maybe learn something new as well. Who knows?

I?ve thrown ?depressive? in the title because depression has been the main obstacle that stood (and still stands) between me and success. It has sabotaged many elements of my life and is at its worst right now, so this should be a great time for me to fight back. The alternative is absolute poverty.

Here?s what I did in preparation before posting: (1) I deleted all of my games (wasn't easy and honestly don?t know how smart -- I will substitute them for reading and working out), and (2) cleaned my room, desk, and PC from top to bottom. It kind of feels like I accomplished something already.

Here?s what?s on my to-do for the remainder of today:

    • Post bids on Elance
    • Write for iWriter (gah)
I will write updates at the end of each workday. I will focus solely on writing for the moment because it's the only way I know to bring in money fast, but I'll also experiment with other methods and write about them in detail.

First goal: $30 per day within a week.

Here?s to success and a hearty ?f**k you!? to depression!

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

I also have a lot of problems with depression, taking the sugar out of my life and exercising helped me a LOT. Good luck!

Hope you'll make it OP. And my advice would be: don't condition your emotional health to anything, nothing is more important than yourself, things come and go, and you can decide to not be overly attached to anything.

Not necessarily, some people don't update their journeys often. But it does seem a long time till OP last posted :)

Depression, especially manic depression, can upset and derail a persons best intentions. I'd like to thank the OP for being honest and forthright about their state of health. Even if it is a discussion forum, it takes a certain amount of guts to reveal something personal when you consider that people, especially people on the Internet, can be cruel, among other things.
