    Hello Guys,

So I've been looking out for a new competitor recently, they have 2 months old website, already pr 3, and ranking #1 for my main keyword
which has approx 673k searches, 100k exact searches, 3.7m results. And the top 10 are really paying attention to their SEO.
so my question is - HOW on earth did they manage that in 2 months ? (or at least from #10 to #1 in a matter of 1.5 weeks)
I have tried to collect their backlink data - bunch of backlinks in comments from non-reputable polish sites
    Socially - nothing at all
Keyword stuffing in URL - none
EMD - yes, so what ? it doesn't or at least shouldn't help
    Unique content - NO
    Lots of Content - NO

So what's the trick guys ? what kind of magic spell is that ? that one keyword is a very very money-bringing one(i've been there before but got kicked out)

anyone who want to investigate into can give the link,

    appreciate any thoughts

Maybe they're using 301 redirect to that site so it means that the PR is fake.

SEOMOZ, SEMRUSH etc can tell you backlink histories for a price. Use them at your discretion.

Yeah and I would suggest the OP to also use MajesticSEO and Open Site Explorer as well.
Maybe backlinkwatch but it dosent seem to update very often (maybe once every 4 months or so).

Agree 100% with majestic seo and opensite explorer but seomoz recently bought them in the past few months.

    Thank you for that.

I use SEO Spyglass. The problem is that all my competitors (there are 8) dont have a lot of backlinks.

So what i have done is use SEO Spyglass and ahrefs as well as majesticseo to find my competitors backlinks, and then get these backlinks for my own site.
However at this point i have gotten 90% of all my competitors backlinks (i know that sounds impossible but I am in a very small niche).

My own site On-Page SEO is perfect. Title and H tags as well as the description and ALT tags etc all with the relevant keywords.
No keyword stuffing on my site etc..unique content etc.

However some of my competition are missing some meta-tags, awful on page SEO.
My competitors SEOMOZ metric rankings are far lower than mine.

However even then two of them outrank me for important keywords, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why.
By SEO technical standards my own site should outrank all the competitors.

In this game most important is quality of links not quantity.

    Yes that is true.

With that in mind i do have some very quality relevant links, but i still rank lower than my competition.
(the top backlinks i got are from EDU (PR7 with 55 OBL), even a MIL site (pR6 with 40 OBL) and also an industry niche PR8 link (with 5 OBL).
Its annoying and scouting ideas to get ahead.
