A Competitor is trying to ruin me on Facebook and Twitter

    Can someone advice me on what to do?
    I sell sports betting tips on my website.
    A competitor bought my service and after 10 days of winning, he lost some bets in 1 day and suddenly asked for a refund. Obviously there was no refund agreement.

    But out of sympathy, i agreed to refund him 60% ($150)
    But because I am limited on the number of payment options available to me, i was left with only Skrill as an option, and I had $120 in my Skrill.
    I sent him this $120 and was searching for other ways to make up the $30.

    But this guy was a nuisance, bombadding my website live chat every 1 hour. Despite me assuring him that I was committed to making up the $30. I even showed him a screen grab of my Skrill to show the only amount left was below $30

    Now he has made a facebook post and got his friends to share it and reported my site to some agencies (he sent me a screenshot, but covered the link).
    He did not state what happened, he only said we were scamming people.

    I know he is a competitor because his skrill ID shows he also sells betting tips.

    Now I feel this is defamation and I want to get back at him. can I get some advice?

    1) You should not have refunded him, are you two from the same country, does your country law allow for betting tips to be sold if yes then contact your lawyer and file a suit.

    No, we are not from same country/continent.
    He is in Slovakia, I am in Africa.

    About refunding him, I just felt like, because he was good to me while he remained. He was sending us screen shots of winning betting slips won with our predictions, which we used for advertising. So i didnt want to be too strict

    Play his game and use it against him. Reply with his screen shots and turn it into an advert for you, keep mentioning how he made money out of you, he'll soon get bored

    Follow him around and reply wherever he posts it. I'd get in touch about the agencies and say
    " my lawyers are requesting a list of the agencies you have reported this to, please reply as soon as possible "
    Always be polite, they hate that lol!
    See what he says and call his bluff

    He blocked his full name on facebook. I have tried searching him out but could not. He only sent a screenshot

    there are many startegies to outperform your competitor. just do not do the same.

    But he is sharing the information all over the internet and his friends are also sharing it. Already has over 800 shares

    Well you know where he is sharing then, do the same. Go to the marketplace and buy some likes for your replies

    I wish I can search him out on facebook. But both his email and full names are not getting me results

    I am sorry to say that this is the world we have to live in. If he is getting personal and offensive in his comments or posts, then you should report to the social media platform, he is posting in. You can also file a defamation lawsuit against him, but that will also affect your business as well.

    Give him the $ and move on with your biz. Next time make sure to create a TOS approval tickbox before any client joins to your services.
