A $20 Bitcoin transaction requires a $20 sending fee

Still you went ahead with the transaction. That mean bitcoin will keep rocking.

These fees are sky-high and ridiculous tbh.

Perhaps if you use other sources to send they might be lower but Trustwallet just took $20 from me to send a $20 transaction.
Totally unusable as a medium of exchange at these rates!

I had the same issue the other day I sent a similar amount of BTC and didn’t check the fee before I sent it. Ouch.

However, ordinarily I always try send send crypto via LTC or lightning network when the recipient supports it.

same thing happened to me but I didn't finish the transaction. What I did was import my wallet to Token pocket and used them for transfers. It costs me as low as $0.7 or tops $9 to send funds. But make sure you download it from the official stores that is play store and App Store. Let me know if it helps.

Edit: also do your due diligence as this ain't financial decision

I doubt you using trustwallet, lol

Yeah, i just checked what the transaction fee was and it was over 150 satoshi/byte

This is strange though, since there are no noticeable changes in BTC trade volume.

They are trying to take they share specially with btc all because the hype and went over 70K if it goes up again for sure they will increase the fees againi or maybe is aways to make people use alt coins insteand of only btc

You just need to use lightning network to that not important transactions. Main chain is for security and immutability.

I prefer receiving crypto because it has good exchange to rate to my local currency but later 30% tax rate was introduced so i had to switch to wise otherwise crypto is much much better, faster and good exchange rate. And like other said if you convert it to LTC or similar crypto then you will have less fees and faster payments.

BTC fee is inevitable
