Lawsuits are the least of their worry, they could be charged under RICO.

I thought every online dating site was like this :) The thing that's more interesting is that so many known fundamentalist religion leaders had accounts there. Friggin' hypocrites.

Back when I ran as an affiliate for AM, I remember getting a massive payout whenever a woman signed up.

It's better to leave off that kind of website. They are fake! :)

The fundamental dynamic of human relations hasn't changed with the web. It's much easier for women, even plain or marginally attractive women, to line up a man for sex (adultery or otherwise) than it is for a man to do so with a woman. Women don't need a site, they just need to put on a tight dress, show off about 40% of their skin, and be approachable in a club or bar.

Or, they often already know which male friend has been eyeing them, and just call them to set things up. Even the genuine personals sites are known to be lopsided with male accounts outnumbering female accounts. AM is just the latest iteration of the fact that much of the female imagery on major sites is just high end ewhoring.

99% of female profiles were probably eWhores.

It's funny because if you watch a documentary about those Russian mail-order brides, you'll notice exactly what you described; the women don't have to try as hard while the men have to put in more of an effort. However, something interesting to note is to compare the majority of the women on those sites to the men who go there. Most of the legitimate women seem to be educated, bilingual, and decent looking at least. On the other hand, some of the men are older, possibly balding, possibly low income (some even marry the woman while living with their parents! I'll link to the statistics if I find them again) and most can't even speak a word of Russian nor do they make the effort.

I had also read an article about general dating sites that went over something like that recently as well. The article was about how older women believe there's a shortage of good older suitors because the older men are going after younger women, while younger men believe that there's a shortage of good women because the younger women are going after older men. In other words, according to the article, the younger women and older men caused this problem and created a cycle for each subsequent generation.

As for my own opinion on the matter, I think it's much easier for a woman who doesn't care if they attract a 'bro' who looks like this and acts in the way you're imagining (most women go after guys like that, so it's fine for them). I've noticed that even for an attractive woman who wants a man who isn't like the others, they have a much more difficult time attracting a decent man as too many 'bros' are approaching them, causing most of them to just settle for a 'bro' when they start thinking that's all there is.

With all due respect, I think you're biasing your logic here a bit for self-serving reasons :)

A guy will on average prefer the most visually attractive female. A woman will on average prefer the most visually attractive male.
A guy can choose to have sex/relationship with a much less attractive female. A woman can choose to have sex/relationship with a much less attractive male.

You're saying that the ripped, muscular guys are somehow "not worthy" of the women's attention while the average looking Joe is instead "decent" (whatever that means) and THAT "decency" is reason enough for women to drip all over the place for him. Can you see the absurdity in this? Tingles don't come from "I respect you dear", they come from "omg, this bad boy will screw my brains out and I'll be screaming all night with pleasure".

    Hello, Jazzc!

I think you misconstrued my previous post due to my mistake in using a word as general as "decent". By "decent", I didn't mean the average looking Joe guys at all, nor was I referring to their looks, although I see how you got that from my post when I said "an attractive woman...", which most people would assume to be solely based on physical characteristics. I was actually referring to their mannerisms when I said, "...a man who isn't like the others". I suppose I should have used a more specific word such as "modest" when referring to their mannerisms, although some may interpret this as being demeaning to the 'bros' (so we'll just say "different").

As for your suspicions about my opinion being built around self-serving purposes, I never developed an interest in dating or even friendships during adolescence, and I apparently still don't have an interest well into adulthood (I'm pretty sure you can extrapolate the possible reason through my other posts), so I'm pretty neutral in this situation. I vaguely mentioned this back in June on one of Pewep's threads about online dating.

Your last sentence made me laugh; it reminds me of the The Ladder Theory. :)

The Women On Ashley Madison Were Almost Entirely Chatbots

Previously, we've told you about the great work Gizmodo has done data-mining the Ashley Madison hack, which proved there were almost no women actively browsing the site and that many of those few accounts in the first place were generated in-house.

But it turns out there's more to the story; most of those women were not only fake accounts, they were robots designed to make the site's millions of male customers think women were actively talking to them.

The numbers in Gizmodo's new round of research really say it all: More than 70,000 fembots sent more than 20 million emails to male members and chatted with customers more than 11 million times. Furthermore, the site's source code indicates that the entire idea was to have these bots constantly engaging the men, making them believe sex was just around the corner, when in fact the site appears to have barely any female clientele.

I am not even remotely surprised. I am sure most "premium" dating sites are like that. A lot of women are just not going to pay membership fees to meet men. Obviously some did since 1% or so of the females were real, but myself and all of the women I know just won't do it (or at least my friends won't admit it if they do). There are just too many free alternatives out there.

I'm really curious to see where this will end lawsuit-wise.
