Why do content writers write like this. It makes no sense. If they just took an extra five minutes to take some extra care it would be worth it. Extra sales from me for a start.

Instead, if content writers wrote more like this they would have article orders coming out of their ears. No need for fancy words, just a comma or two here and there would be sufficient enough for me to order.

    ----------------------------

You guys PAY to have your sales thread on BHW and there is so much competition. For a start, do yourself a big favour and take just a little bit of extra care on your samples - it will be worth it!.

    PS.

I know there are 5% of writers who are excellent, no offence meant to anyone - just a little advice on how to please both parties!

Do people need people writing in French for them ? Just put my gig to have fun on Fiverr and had zero demand.
    It's just a question

English is probably not their native language which is why they may write like that.

Another possibility is that they don't have much experience working with editors to hone their writing. People who buy their content aren't trained editors as well so customers don't make great learning tools for writers.

If you want decent content you just have to pay for it. I learnt this a couple of months ago when I ordered like 15 articles, from one of the cheap ones that say their content is handwritten and good. When I read the first line of one the articles, I went to freelancer and paid someone to rewrite them entirely and paid the double of what those costed originally .
The lesson is, if you really need good content, write it yourself or pay for the most expensive ones. And also , NEVER TRUST THE PREVIEWS CONTENT SELLERS GIVE YOU.

You get what you pay for.

I personally charge quite a bit compared to the average here and I make sure my content is above standards. Since I'm being paid a bit more, I make sure I take a closer look at my writing once I am finished, so that my client is satisfied.

However, on Fiverr, I charge a bit less and close to never re-read what I wrote. I write up a 500 word article in 5 minutes, charge $10 for it, and am satisfied with a 5-star review because I didn't charge too much for it and my client isn't expecting much.

So again, you get what you paid for.

You can't take extra care in writing English when you don't even know how to speak the language.

And to be fair most who do wouldn't take the time to write 500 words for $5 either.

IMHO if you're paying pennies for an article you should EXPECT to do some editing, I wouldn't put much care into writing for that price either. My issues come with the higher end providers who give you an obviously outsourced (poor) product.

The answer to your question is as follows:

(a). They are not native English speakers or writers
(b). They are outsourcing their BHW content gigs to cheap non-English writers, (Fiverr,
(c). They never perform QC Quality Control on the final output, (i.e., no grammar checker to speak of)
(d). They are using software such as WordAI, TheBestSpinner, ChimpWriter, Content Professor, Spinrewriter, etc.)

After using a number of BHW content providers, I noticed the above patterns. Some even use English names, but when you look at your PayPal receipt, they are typically from the non-English speaking countries.

I had one writer, who claimed he was a native English, but then used words such as; petrol, humour, lorry, barrister, biro, driving licence, flavour, jewellery, etc. Needless to say, I was furious!

The moral of this post is:

(1). Always deploy, "Extreme Vetting!" When hiring writers
(2). You get what you pay for; if you hire cheap writers, DO NOT expect top tier content.

We need to stop making excuses for these writers.

Too many of you are writing that you cannot expect good writing for a cheap price. That is bullshit. You are paying for a service. The service should match what they promise in their sales thread. The price does not come into it.

If a writer (or any other type of service) fails to deliver to the standard promised you should be entitled to a refund. Continued failure to meet the standards that the seller has promised should result in them losing their BST sales thread.

If we keep making excuses and do nothing to combat it, the quality of the content will just keep going down.

Whenever you purchase a service on here, or elsewhere; compare what is delivered against what was promised in the sales thread. If the standards are not met, then take action and let the seller know. If they combat with something along the lines of "what do you expect for $5?" then highlight where they have failed to meet the standards they themselves have promised, and demand a rewrite or refund. You should also leave a negative comment on their thread to warn other forum members of the issue.

This is the only way we are likely to raise the standard of service we receive from poor sellers. Ideally, it would be good to have a feature on BHW where buyers can report when a BST seller has not delivered what was promised and after a certain amount of negative reports, a mod would have to look into it further and decide whether the seller gets to keep their BST. I know we have the shitlist, but I think that should be reserved for extreme cases where a member is being ripped off.

Most boarders complain of content providers on here, but standard content these days cost upwards of $8 per 100 words. For obvious reasons, that quality will never be a match for what's available at $4, for example.

So when you expect top notch quality you must be willing to shell out more.

A good article takes a writer about two hours or more, and that is no match for a measly $20 or $30.

I'll start reading English literature. Idea of writing for money is appealing. Pay per hour is decent, schedule is flexible, and imagination is only frontier. There are various topics i really enjoy, and more i think about it, more it makes sense. I'll find some grammar books online, dedicate my free time, and become successful non-native English writer. I'm not desperate to earn anything, just curious about new things. Insatiable knowledge hunger is my eternal curse.

The most I paid for an article was $0.15 per word. I had to test it out. He was a writer from NYTimes and had a Ph.D. in Literature.
    Worth it, but too costly.

Awesome suggestion! If we want to maintain quality on BST's I think this is what we should do.

Would you have a sample of the content that cost you $0.15 per word?

The worst thing about ordering from some of these sellers is that if you order 20-30 articles,
then half will be nonsense, 25% half decent, 25% good

Thats because some providers ( Not all ) use different writers for the same project and not all of them will have the same level of skill.
