Buy up all the dust masks I can at a deep discount, sell them at a brutal profit via online storefront. Is that bad?

I was in Oregon during the Spring and a local died of swine flu, I think a couple of other people in the state died from it too - these are not people in 3rd world conditions.

That being said I do think it is being hyped a tad too much, people freaked the hell out and everything closed for a couple of days!

If they are hyping about 90k Americans, makes me wonder what they predict about Hajj. With millions of Muslims together in Mecca/Medina I'm sure health officials will predict the numbers to be greater than 90K.

No I'm saying they're hyping the whole thing. Making a really big deal out of it when less than 1% of people die from it so at that rate spread over an entire season it really isn't going to have much of an impact on the nation - not nearly as much as people staying home from work/school because of media induced fear.

Not trying to be morbid, but people die everyday.

If this doesn't kill us, something else eventually will.

Enjoy your life while you can.

Now get back to making money and having fun.

I had swine flu, I was sick for about a week. 3 of my co-workers also got it, which made work a bitch as we were severely understaffed but that was the extent of it. I've been sicker before.

The big issue is whether 1) not merely the swine flu, but the H1N1 virus spreads (the latter is a cocktail mix of swine, avian and human flu); and 2) will an outbreak be a result of an administration of the swine flu vaccine, whose fatal effects may cause people with borderline immune systems to die off from the shots.

I suspect the TPTB will use these vaccine-caused deaths as a self-fulfilling prophecy, and declare the outbreak to be so serious that now everybody has to get a series of doses, which will cause more deaths, causing a bigger scare panic, and a government call for more people to get more shots, etc. The drug companies will be monetizing from this like mad!

I used to worry about this, but the whole forced shot thing seems not to be panning out too well. They went from I think saying that they were going to get 120 million vaccines to 40 million, which isn't nearly enough to vaccinate the whole US.

Of course, such an unstable artificial virus can mutate, but if it happens, it happens.

And half a million people will die from ordinary flu this year (it's true, look it up). And a lot more will die of cancer or maybe heart disease. What's your point?

P.S. You know, the world population is growing at an exponential rate. Maybe not in America, but you and I will see the consequences of this very soon unless some swine flu virus kills a few thousand of them.
