Wow indeed, that IS insane, I don't think FB is currently even worth that much! They don't charge more serious criminal activity this much either!

That's a good point, how much did OJ Simpson get charged with in the Civil Suit against him, I want to say like $25 Million (and that was for murdering two people).

That is just stupid for them to charge that guy like that. Talk about overkill.

Next, it'll be zap collars for mental reform... " Don't do that. " !BIZZZT! :yield:

It just goes to show you how screwed up the whole legal system is. All he should have to do is file bankruptcy though. That will result in him losing most of his assets, but it will save him 874M.

Doesn't this still have the right to be appealed to a higher court. The first numbers are always high but when it comes down to it, they won't see a penny. Here is the funny thing about it, the ppl that it affected (users of facebook) won't see a penny nor will the people the emails were sent to (not that its possible)

Allegedly Guerbuez, from Montreal, Canada (his company is registered in Panama) was able to achieve his ends by stealing Facebook logon details with phishing messages and creating an army of botnets to post messages so they appeared to come from friends.

I wish Facebook good luck with getting the money from Canada or Panama because their laws are different then US:D
