I was in a little bubble for a few months I kept getting told by friends "your website is not working in school/colege/university
at first I thought maybe I have dodgy back links but it seems when you do a search from years ago this website was once
a porn website redirected for another main website - according to the SEO team we should have already been a PR4 domain
with the rules we have followed by putting up proper content & basic seo rules (white hat)

The thing I don't understand is I had submitted it into the search engines etc it was a dropped domain that I had purchased last year so is Google still going to punish this domain because of its past?

Everything is as normal with this domain - everything ranks - fairly good amount of traffic its just this whole thing of it not working in certain workplaces and education places

Question) how would I go about getting such a stain removed - is this the reason why PR is remaining at 1

Any kind suggestions - your opinions - throw anything you want just need a basic idea on what you guys think of this thank you~

I wonder if you could have figured this out using archive.org before you bought the site? I've always been told to check sites before you buy them, but that's a real bummer man. Sorry to hear it.

This was the first domain purchase - liked the name and built on it straight away without thinking and now its all coming back - a lesson learnt but just wondering if theres any pointers on how to turn this around

Try re-branding or getting an alternative extension and then 301?

I would kill to see what the domain name is haha.

It'd be hilarious if the OP created an informational site that sounds innocent to 99 percent of normal people but is a name for some sort of bizzare sexual act.

301 redirect is the way to go. Not 100% recover but it's the best you can do. Looks like google has no problem with the website. But you are in anti-porn software databases which is something you can't solve.

The domain is probably on the list of blocked sites in various netnanny/firewall software that universities and some big companies use. It'd be hard to get out of that list; you'd actually have to know what they're using that's blacklisting the domain and then could get in touch with that company to update the list and propagate it to their clients. A new domain and 301 redirect would be easier, definitely.

It always happened to me to buy a domain which was previously dropped, I have la six domains with a story lol. One was with hacks/cracks, another one with porn too, and so on some weird shit anyways.

It didn't seem to affect my current activity with these sites though.

If the sites listed and blocked then forget about and start working on something else. You could turn it back to porn but that's a niche for specialists.

Put us out of our misery and tell us the name....my guess is you were building a beauty product store and it's some thing to do with facials !

That's unfortunate, but this is a great lesson for everyone else to do a quick history check before buying a domain.

Is it Therapist.com? You wanted to offer a therapy site but somebody used it for mock rape porn?

Always do proper research mate. It hurts when you get busted like this. A little research goes a long way.
