depends on the number and quality of infrastructure and population density where the earthquake hit. I just hope it didn't do massive damage to Chile

How about the wave headed out it is expected to hit Hawaii at about 10 a.m. cst it is said by "experts" to be a 15 foot wave when it hits the shore.

9.5 is the highest, but no doubt this thing is epic.

Now there is a Tsunami heading toward Hawaii, and Australia and NZ are under warning.

Seriously, wtf is up with these earthquakes... Makes me start thinking about this 2012 BS.

6.9 and 6.1 aftershock.. (Those are under normal circumstances big ass earthquakes on thier own.)

Quite a bit of destruction it hit near a city with 1,000,000 , though not anywhere near the scale of Haiti. But definitely extreme damage.

    2012 BS = BS.

Everyone dies nobody lives forever the factor that kills humans is chance and time. Chance being Natural disasters or car accidents. Time being old age. If the world were to end in 2012 it wouldn't make a difference, now you have to think about the after life situation. Do you rot in the ground or do you meet up with some sort of divine being.

When I said it wouldn't make a difference I meant it's like dieing, everyone dies.

What did chili do to Chuck Norris to piss him off so bad? ( Joking aside, I'm glad to hear that the tsunami warning system is working as it should. Everyone in the potential affected areas has been properly, and promptly notified of the potential for disaster.)

Although this is not unique to Chile, with the recent events of Earthquakes (Haiti) I wonder how long before the end of the world wack jobs use these events to spread their word.

    Hi,
I am writing from Peru, neighboring country of Chile.
So far 122 are dead, one is headed to Hawaii stunami to 900km, will not recommend going to the beach across the Pacific zone.
Are still feeling the aftershocks of the earthquake.
    Greetings.

I'm in Hawaii, and there is nothing really significant going on.

The water levels are surging up and down, but it's thankfully there's no 8ft waves like they were predicting early on.
