I found a keyword with $7 CPC, 400K exact matches per month, but low ad competition.
If I google it, I don't even see any ads for it.

I have no idea why the CPC is so high. It's for a free tool and I have no idea how to monetize it.

Your thoughts on this kw?

build a site and add adsense? Seems pretty simple to monetize.

As the Adwords competition is low try relevant CPA offers. Or any kind of products that suit!

These free tool keywords have quite low potential. I would suggest not to waste time with them unless you find a good way to monetize it!

P.S. You can also collect emails in that niche if you think that would be profitable!

Maybe there are related keywords which have high competition on adwords?

99cent Go daddy domains offer on at the moment....Quick wordpress install...throw a few hundred links at it in the next few weeks and try it out...Figures do look a bit too good but I would throw up a site just for testing

I suspect that you already know this keyword is a dud

No keyword tool is 100 percent accurate

If there are no adwords on the results pages then there is no money

Spyfu.com will show any previous advertisers - but I suspect they will have no info on the keyword

Pay-Per-Install my friend. It's a free tool, combine it with a Pay Per Install, and you'll freakin' kill it man. That's plenty of search traffic.

Yes. Neither spyfu nor keywordspy nor semrush show any ads. Competition = 0.

This is an interesting idea. All the competitions are offering a free web based tool.
But if I offer a tool for download, and it has a search toolbar, that might work.
What are other PPI offers?

You'll probably want to steer clear of some of the other more spammy ones, like the ones that install 'anti-spyware tools' which are themselves spyware - you'll get yourself listed as a malicious site. There is a full section on this on the forum from memory. PPI doesn't pay huge, but with that kind of traffic, you could bank a healthy amount with search-bar installs.

I guess it's a brand name keyword. Lots of searches but no advertisers

Are you sure you are ticking "Exact" number of searches, and not broad or phrase? Also, don't trust the GKT's estimation of the CPC unless you are looking at the contextual tool. Spyfu will give you a far more realistic idea.

Here is the thing, what if it's only getting 10 cent CPC for real? You are still getting 400k searches a month. It'd still be worth building if it's low competition.
