    Hi,
Just stumbled upon a 3 letter combo that gets roughly 7.5 mil searches (exact) a month (although this is on google keyword tool and we all knw how shit that is!)

The phrase has no adwords competetion and I would like to try and monetize the phrase thru an adwords or PPC campaign.

Ive no chance of ranking for this phrase because the serps from position 1-10 is loaded with heavyweight domains, bbc, facebook, wikipedia etc etc.

Like I said there is absoloutely no adwords competing for this phrase so I want to run some sort of adwords campaign, hopefully hijack some of the traffic and when they click my ad are then taken to some CPA offer or perhaps adsense page.

bearing in mind that the traffic here will be completely untargeted , what do you think the best way to monetize this would be?

Cheers guys, I hope this thread will build up to be a good discussion so feel free to throw in ur 2cents worth. I will be posting any discoveries I make along the way.

    Peace.

If there is no adwords competiton, better do some deeper research and make sure it is a buying phrase. See who's #1 for that search term in G organic search and what they are selling. If there are no adwords competitors for a term that has that many searches, I'd be very suspicious of the value, otherwise you may get traffic and no sales.

Sounds like an opportunity for adsense arbitrage. Even if they're not buying keywords with no competition you should be able to get visitors really cheap.

Turn around and show them more expensive ads on your site via adsense. Of course its a bit harder than this but should work.

yeah, thats more or less what i thinking, for a start the keywords are totally not buying keyword. But.....due to the volume of traffic I was thinking about some blackhat manouvre such as when the user clicks the PPC ad theyre taken to a page displaying an image overlaid on an adsense ad.

    or

The user clicks on the adwords ad and theyre taken to a page that contains a content locker saying " please verify your human.....enter your email address...." or something similar. This would be tied in with a CPA offer.

    what do you guys think?

closely check the first 10 results on google with seoquake to get a better ideea about competition. From what i know adwords lost some data a while back and it is pretty inaccurate. Check your competition manually and with market samurai and traffic travis.

after that you should get a better ideea about how low the competition is

I was psyched I found 2 keywords that 20k people each locally were not targeting. I can`t imagine 7.5 million.

There has to be a way to get adsense money from sending that traffic to pages filled with highpaying ads with good ad placement?

I think the enter an email thing may get you in trouble.

yea, your probably right mate, the enter an email thing is highly dubious and will probably end up in trouble a brewing! So you would recommend adsense? Any other PPC you would recommend? Im pretty new to PPC and only really know adsense.

    Much appreciated

Download market samurai and find the patch on here to get it working. Make sure its really 7.5 million and make sure no one else is buying ads.

PPC programs.. When I was looking the only one that seemed worth anything is adsense. I just don`t know how you will direct that target to higher payig keywords.

Go to the downloads section and find "The FATCAT BLUEPRINT" gives tons of introduction information about Adsense.

I hope that helps. There are also tons of Adwords vouchers around cheap/free so it would be easy to test this starting out.

    Cheers!

Only real way to find out, is load up $10 in adwords and create a campaign for that keyword term, and find out if the volume is correct. There's probably a great chance, it isn't and google's keyword tool is just lying to you. And if you spend a lot of time without finding upfront, you've wasted a hella amout of time.

You'll never get a remotely decent CTR and your quality score will already be pretty bad. You can find plenty of these types of keyword.
