Yah, if it's a blog site you might have to get the link in the sidebar. I try to avoid these because I don't want it on every page, but I'll take a few. You can join affiliate networks to sell leads, but I don't understand why people do that. I think that's more for people that are pushing paid traffic and want a quick partnership or something. I cut out the middleman and just email sites that would be interested in the leads. You'd be surprised what people will do when you simply ASK.

How much are they willing to pay per lead usually?

Depends completely on the niche. Selling debt consolidation leads can be $80+. Selling leads for plumbing services will be a lot less. Hell, I saw that "mesothelioma lawyer" was like a $300 CPC keyword. I'm sure lawyers would pay hundreds for these leads. Got to be careful selling leads to lawyers. Some stiff laws on that. Actually, lots of laws with selling leads. I call or have a live chat with each lead before I refer them somewhere, so I'm not really worried about it. The customers 100% agree to be contacted by whatever company I recommend. I have had exactly 1 out of probably 1,000 get angry that I wanted to refer them to someone else. People like third party recommendations, which is what I do. I help people avoid working with shoddy companies. The companies I refer to say my leads close at a 10% higher rate, which is why they pay me a premium for them. More than Google Ads. Calling and managing the live chat takes a little more time, but I get paid more for doing it so I don't mind.

Just wanted to chime in an say this post is freaking nails. I've been around for a long time, mostly here as a lurker, but my journey is similar and I've been doing the same full-time since 2007. Read the bullet points at the bottom of the post at least 10 times and don't be afraid to fail. That is how you learn stuff others don't know and those that do won't share. Embrace the failure as the best education you can't pay for and the price most aren't willing to pay. Now go! ;)

Great journey OP. My question is if you will use Adsense, then your profit will be lowered to what percentage?

First of all, thanks for your amazing history, very inspirational, second, i would like to ask some questions:

As English is not my native language, could you explain the part where you offer to create an article and have it be linked from their homepage within 1 click, where you put the article? inside the article you add the backlink to your site? could you elaborate?

At the moment, what's the monthly frequency buying backlinks?

How many keywords you ranked before said is enough?

I guest your main keyword is highly competitive, how's your site ranking on google at the moment?

Can you tell your earnings just on Adsense right know?

Love this thread, very motivational and informative. I was going to buy seo services on bhw but when I read your post I changed my mind and logically doing it manually sounds a lot better and less risky.
I have one question for you it might sound dumb... So, do you think having a very high-quality article with my main keyword and manually asking sites with good DA is the way to go to rank my KW?

Just want to chime in and thank OP for saving me hundreds on purchasing links from PBNs and such SEO packages. Was going to be my next course of action but I think I'll try to do it organically via outreach as stated here, while doing more targeted marketing as well.

Okay, my last message got deleted and flagged as spam. But really I just wanted to say how great this write up was and how I couldn't agree more that have high page authority links really help. The only thing I'd like to also ask is if you had experience with blog posts and articles that would also help boost SEO? or those don't really matter and its really more about high page authority backlinks?

Are you generating exclusive leads for businesses or are they shared leads you sell? Or both? If they are shared leads with others, are the businesses aware of that and pay less for shared as opposed to exclusive or are they in the dark? Great thread, btw.

Exclusive. I wouldn't share and not tell them. Getting paid too much.

blog posts and articles help. Good to mix it up too. Less effective than high page authority IMO. When I'm paying for the guest post I title it after a keyword I want to rank for. Sometimes I'll push a few links to these guest post so I rank for the keyword on the other site, which has the link to my site. I didn't start with this until I was already ranking for everything I wanted to rank for with the my site.

Daveguy, what type of sites do you create to generate leads?

For example if you're trying to sell leads to attorneys/law firms, do you create website that have articles with some sort of legal guides, advices, true stories of legal problems people are facing etc or do you create some sort of review sites where you help people make an informed decision on how to choose the right attorney for the specific problem that they have?

    Hi @daveguy
Really enjoyed reading your story, I have to say trying to rank for low volume keywords does suck. With PPL I didn't think high traffic was needed but you also use AdSense on your website so you must get a lot of traffic. How much daily traffic do you get if you don't mind me asking.

Also where would be a good place to start for someone that has never done PPL I've only tried Amazon Affiliate sites (and failed)

    Thanks :)

    Hi @daveguy ,

this is one of the most motivating and inspirational threads on bhw. Oftentimes, when I get stuck at linkbuilding, I step back, read your post and then spray with enthusiasm again. Thank you very much for sharing your experience!

I have one question concerning the following:

I very, very rarely see any website link out to an external source from their homepage except they are really spammy. Do you ask for this even if the target site does not do it at the moment? And if so, does this work? Or do you only ask for homepage links when you see, there are already links to external sources? What type of site am I supposed to look for? I imagine company sites will not do it, so won't magazines. Or am I wrong?

Re reading and I have a question, OP. Are you making your money ($300 per day) on leads or on the website you created using ads or does the website sell leads?
