So when you parked this domain to your host, it made all your indexed pages as live page, showing some ads for all page visits instead of redirecting it to homepage. So when google visited your above page, it found live as ads were visible on it although no content on it, so it retained its PR3.

My advice to make your above mentioned page live as soon as possible to get linkjuice.

could you please explain what you mean by the statement (highlighted in red). are you saying that all pages were 301'd to the home page AND THE HOME PAGE is what youre referring to as the single 'live' page or have i completely misunderstood?

by the way, i can see the home page as pr1 and the specific page mentioned in the guardian article is pr3 - is that because the specific page has now been made live by the website owner and pr has slipped away from home page back down to the page linked to by the guardian?

This is weird. DO you update it every once in a while? I'm jealous.
