I havent tried this out but appears to work.

I just bought a really expensive magazine - £13 - $16 approx. and it gave me this URL for 6 months free reseller hosting so I hope this works and helps ppl.

    Code:
    http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/resellers/
This is not my site or anything and appears to be the company that sponsors the magazine (called Web Designer 4 if they ask). It says a 6 month free trial so looks ok.

Hit thanks if any good as nobody ever thanks me for sh1t haha

EDIT: Couldnt find a hosting related section so this seemed best, please move if there is a better section for it to go.

    :D

Thanks for the share, +REP added, good to have more hosting accounts laying around :).
On the registration page there, on the 'where did you hear about is?' I picked Magazines -> Web Design 4. Any1 else that registers apply this too :)

Glad it has helped some people.

Its designed for pros so I guess they are banking on you moving sites there and not getting around to canceling the acc or moving the sites.

I want to start trying to give back to bhw as I have learnt so much here.

    :D

I just tried to sign up. It will try to put a hold on your CC for payment a year from now. If you don't have the balance on your card, it won't sign you up.

As far as I can tell it should be ok if you cancel before the 6 months is over.

Its being sold as a trial so they cant charge you I believe unless you want to carry on past the 6/12.

    :)

Thats just it, they wouldn't even sign me up. I use pre-paid cards for this kind of stuff, and put the money on when the payment is due. If you don't have the balence on the card, it won't complete the sign-up.

@Randy have you used the above?

You could always email them and tell them you bought the same mag based on the info in this thread and see what they say?

    :)

I'll try that, and see what happens. I'll feed them a load of BS about using pre-paid cards to avoid fraud, ect. They can't do more than say no.

Probably you didn't select to pay monthly but you left the option @ the default (yearly) so they may be trying to charge you the rest of the 6 months, maybe, I don't really remember.

BTW, they verify you through phone, just a notice to those that don't feel comfy with speaking.

Have any other ppl used the free year link?

I already tried this. Company really sucks and for everything you might want on a website you have to pay extra. Want sql databases? Pay me. Want Perl? Pay me. Want a cPanel for customers? Pay me.

    Really sucky IMO

it doesn't work anymore. directs you to the homepage. The 6 months offer seems to be the best one as of now..

    It's FREE, don't expect much.

As HustlinHard stated, it works fine, this is a huge promotion they are having. This company has done it before and they are doing it again. It's possible they reject certain countries from signing up so you may want to try a US proxy.
