Okay, I have no money to pay for anything. So I need help the best free way to get this site going better than it is. If I can't, then I will have to be patient. This is what I got as for website.

WordPress with Newspaper theme, with AIO Seo Pack free plugin with all necessary plugins with theme. The site has 120+ articles. I had some issues with site so that is kind of why the posts are a little low for 6 months, but I try to at least post 1 or 2 posts a day. It has gallery page with images with link icon that you click to go to the article from the images. I have forums page, but no new members. I have total of 9 backlinks to the site. I have added my site link to facebook site page, and twitter. I even got it on Google+ profile and other social networks. My Alexa rank is 6,440,716.

I have the site tweaked to run speedy as of 1.5 second load time. over 1,000 pages indexed on Google. So I am wondering, do I just be patient still and it will eventually get going? It seems a little slow getting started for 6 months live site. I have it hosted on a Azure VM with Bitnami image for Ubuntu with MySQL and PHP install of WordPress. I am wondering if I am doing okay with this, and just being paranoid?

I am not currently working right now, and this is just to help me practice my knowledge of website design and stuff until I get a job offer. The more I know what I should do the better. Just a little tell me if I am okay or doing something wrong would help, but like I said, that I have no income to pay for anything.

The site really does not have a specific niche. I did not make a specific niche on it, just random different topics and categories for a blog.

Site is awesomebryner with com domain.

How many visitors does the currently get? Are you sure the on-site SEO is up to the mark? You seem to have a bunch of articles(hopefully unique) on the site, I think now would be a good time to start some offsite SEO. Make sure to keep it light at this moment and increase the velocity eventually.

Do you have analytics installed? What are the incentives on your site to capture a visitor or get them to come back to your site?

As well as are your articles original? how long are they? how is your onsite SEO? are you interlinked through out the site?

Tons of factors to consider, and since you only have 9 backlinks that does not help either :(

100+ visitors a daily unique around. SEO is sort of okay. It isn't 100% right now. I have it on GWT and GA linked to each other. I think the links and images are okay on it. Oh and is on Bing webmaster tools as of yesterday.

I feel I am just being a little impatient, but I could be wrong. It was 2 months ago as low as 4,270,000 on Alexa rank, and it crept up to what it is in two months time. No PR, but I heard Google PR is not to worry about since it isn't getting updated anymore.

The only offsite SEO I have is Social media sites from my website has a lot of it on their with my site link on the profiles. I just added a page to wikipedia about the site for backlink, but they are back loaded with articles that it would be around a month to see if the article is approved.

Even have my site on g2link for company information. I even tried to put the site information on DMOZ directory, but I don't think it is going to be added. I did it like 4 months ago.

It is what I could think of doing without having any money. I post a comment on some blogs every once in a while to get backlinks too.

I have been commented a couple of times of how my website looks great. The navigation is great on it too.

If you are good at writing, you can try guest posting. It's very effective when it comes to promoting a blog

If you expect to get traffic from content without SEO, firstly, you better update the blog with a VERY minimum of 1 article a day; if you can, try to work on 4 a day. 120 articles is really nothing much tbh... 100 UV a day from 120 articles is great if you doing no SEO at all.

Seriously, just keep adding more articles, obviously make sure they are really good and they get your audience to come back regularly. The more you add, the higher chances to gain loyal readers; think about it, if someone liked an article of yours and came back the next day to see the same shit on your blog, they would most likely not come back ever again. If they come back and they see 10 new articles and all new info, chances are they will be coming back on a regular basis.

Anyways man, you doing good, just pump it up with more articles and you will be on the way to 1k a day in no time.

If you are getting 100 visitors per day its not TOO bad.
How much are you making at the moment? I would suggest that you work on 3 aspects:

1.Building content - this is probably the most important one for you - you said you have been slacking a bit with the content writing, but you need to pull your figure out - if you are otherwise unemployed, then you should be aiming for 3-4 articles per day - if you cant think up that much content, there is a method on this site somewhere that involves getting articles from other sources and completely re-writing them.
If you do less articles, spend extra time on them - source and include images etc and then promote each publication to social media.

2.Build backlinks - as said above, I think the best thing you could do is try to guest post on some niche related blogs - or become a regular writer for a few blogs - theres lots of call for that. you should perhaps keep 1 article that you write per day spare ready for this, and then make a goal to contact at least 10 sites per day asking if they would like a regular guest poster or similar.

3.optimisation - If you have 100 visitors per day, tahts not too bad, I would be working to optimise the site in terms of revenue - if you have adsense try moving your ads around, experiment with new spaces.
Look at some other revenue streams - CPA, maybe buysellads/textlinkads and similar.
If you could increase your revenue with the same amount of visitors, I think it would inspire you to work harder on the site, and also you would have a bit more to invest back into the site that way.

    Why?

As RK said, quality content updated many times a day. Offsite SEO is the next thing then. And if you are at some point going to pay for something, pay for a proper SEO service (plenty here in the marketplace). They'll get you ranked.

Tried webtrafficgreeks, they convert pretty well atthough I recommend not to start by ordering huge numbers of targeted visitors.

Assuming you're already spending a decent amount of effort developing and publishing interesting content and enabling interactivity on your website, you need to expose as many people as possible to it. There are many places to list your library's events or services and to interact with current or potential library members.

First off, forget about the Alexa rank! It doesn't mean a thing.

    Second off, build some links.

OP you have to update your blog regularly with useful information that should attracts the readers well. And do social shares for every. In this way you can get more visitors. The main thing to be consider is the content that should be relevant to the niche.

That's right mate but not exactly. Black hat working much better than white hat when we go for instant boost up. :D
