    Hi fellow BHWers,

I just started on Adwords 5 days ago, and I set up a small campaign with a $50 voucher. In that span of 5 days, I had 531 hoplink clicks, but no sale! The product I'm promoting is Truth About Abs, and i don't that niche has saturated either. So my question is, how many clicks does it usually take to generate 1 sale?
Also, the problem might be that I'm using iframe on my landing page. Could that somehow mess up the tracking code?

Thanks a lot guys, I really learnt a lot from this forum already!

yeah at first i tried both search and content network, but after like 200 clicks on Search and no sale, i switch back to content network only and got some pretty cheap clicks. But they don't convert!!
My main question is that, if the Affiliate Reporting in Clickbank shows that there are 531 hop clicks, does that mean the cookie is set correctly on the client's machine? Because I'm using iframe, and according to their TOS, it will mess up the cookie.
Just want someone's opinions here ...

    DON'T PROMOTE TRUTH ABOUT ABS!

A while ago I was promoting it by article marketing. This one sucks. I haven't got even 1 conversion after 50 articles! I started asking around on the WF and people told me they have similar experience. Probably due to the fact that the customers need to jump through 4 pages to get to the "order" button.

    Just find another product man.

Unless your targeting is just completely screwed up, there has to be something wrong, whether it's that their page sux or the iframe you're using. 531 clicks is alot for no sales
    even for something really expensive...

yeah i thought so too. that's why i'm asking if the iframe will somehow mess up the Clickbank cookie (iirc in their TOS they say that the cookie won't be registered if we use iframe, but i see a lot of affiliates still using it, so i gave it a try). Do you think that's the problem?

I'm not an expert but I would think if you are getting credited for the hop then the cookie must be getting set correctly. Have you clicked through your link on the iframe and followed it all the way to the CB order page? Probably not since you didn't know it took 4 pages. I would do that, or have someone that hasn't been to the site before, and look at the bottom of the order form and see if your ID is in the affiliate/referred area. I would probably try it in a couple of different browsers if possible.

I guess the only way to be sure would be to do it again without the iframe.

Do you realise how hard it is to make your own product?? Thats why people are affiliates..... thats like telling somone to make there own tv range instead of owning a tv shop.... it just doesnt make finiancial sense or time sense especially if you dont know were to start....

If you want alot of chargebacks and unhappy customers then by all means create a product and promote it.... no one will have heard about it and you will have to start right from the bottom but thats your choice.....

good luck man but move onto a diff product... you should be looking at 100 approx hops per sale unless you target really well then even less

If you've just started with clickbank you have bad timing! They have been having major tracking and or credit card processing issues ever since their september update. I was making $100 - $300 a day via ppc with clickbank. Since the update, I've had to pause my campaigns due to several 2 to 3 day stretches with no sales. I recieved an email from them this morning saying something about their fraud protection software maybe being a problem??? I don't know, but Clickbank is not a good option right now in my opinion.

thanks for the advice, i knew their system's messing up right now, but i didn't know that so many people are affected ...

Yeah, I'm going to try it without iframe. The thing is I have tried to follow my link several time, and the order page always has my affiliate name and my tracking id right, so I thought there was no problem. Maybe it's time to find another $50 adwords voucher lol

Oh, and do you know another website like ClickBank? I looked at PayDotCom but they don't seem to offer as many products, and CJ publishers always declined my affiliate (maybe because i'm not in the USA? i don't know lol)

Hi I just found this board, fantastic stuff here.
Anyway about Truth About Abs I promoted it several years ago with minimal success (around 1% hop conversion) but if I remember it took a lot of different keyword trials to achieve that. I don't think the 4 pages is a deterrent. It's a very niche market, people wanting better abs generally are looking for hardware, not an eBook. I think you'd do better with weight loss.

Thanks a lot for your advice. I'm changing my landing page to promote weight loss product now. Hopefully I'll sooner or later get my first sale

Anyway my question still has no answer: does iframe mess up the clickbank cookie? anybody has any experience with that? thanks a lot

dont mean to hijack your thread but i am getting over 2000 hops per day for one product which i dont even promote any longer. when i was promoting it, i started with a landing page and then a redirect. Not even one sale ever. Now in the past month i have received over 60000 hops. I dont have a clue why they are there.

    Hi Dangsquall:

I, too, was promoting Truth About Abs but did not have good success. I also have built a list from a targeted landing page for this product.

    Results? BAD!

I switched products and began promoting Fat Loss For Idiots. It has been a great product for me.)
