Haven't had this happened to me. Been spamming for some time but haven't come across such a penalty. The low earnings might be a different thing for me though o.o ..

The ting most people have in common is that they used mass blog comments, how many people have used blackhatlinks.com? As this has been used by many a people that have been penalised?

I had no penalties as of yet with ranking videos. I just started using Blackhatlinks and im worried about that. The interesting thing is BlackHatlinks recommends to rank a video by:

Well this is a little interesting. I just ask blackhatlinks this question:

They just changed this on their website from suggesting 1000 backlinks to 100 links every two days just because of my email... The service has been top notch overall though. The response was very fast and i been really happy with the service so far! I just hope my 1000 blog comments i just bought doesn't hurt me.

none of my videos were hit, so difficult for me to speculate. Many had the same one tier GSA type links, anchor text spread out a ton.

One thing that's different about mine is ALL of them have high PR backlinks of some kind, either from my own network of sites, or from high PR video commenting (from before the profile redirector change), or from my own network of high PR web 2.0 properties.

WEIRD thing happend to one of my penalized youtube videos.

One of my videos got hit and was out of index.

I didn't touch it at all.

Couple of days ago it returned to it's previous positions in SERP, but without thumbnail.

Why no thumbnail?

I have the same question, did it happened only recently or have you been facing such drops frequently in the past?

As I am using similar methods and luckily, haven't seen any drops yet.

it seems that google has demoted videos in general? it seems that there are a lot fewer videos in serp 1st page now than before?

I think i figured it out - did you guys buy Blog posts from a seller in BST? I did and he told me some of 1/3 of his network got de indexed around feb 22nd.

I think a bunch of blogs got de-indexed and we all bought some PBN links to point to our videos, and when they went our videos went.

For those of you that got your rankings back - maybe your PBN owner replaced your links..

For those of us that didnt - its because the guys we bough out links from didnt.

This would explain why their isnt a lot of crying going on around the web - because its just a standard de-indexing of blogs instead of Google hating YouTube.

It would also explain why YouTube videos are still ranking high for certain queries.

Never used blog posts on my videos. I think other user is correct maybe google is putting less emphasis on youtube in search results.

I thought I'd put my thoughts into this thread.

What Im seeing
1. I'm noticing quite a few kw dont have videos on page 1 anymore.
2. Videos cant just simply be spammed to rank anymore. Imho, i think G is treating videos more like websites.
3. No changes with anchor text ratio

What I've Learned
1. On-Page SEO seems a lot more important. You need to fully understand On-Page SEO more than ever now for videos
2. Videos can still be easily ranked with higher quality content backlinks, rather than spamming with Scrapebox. Diversity of platforms + dripfed backlinks help
3. Retention of views seems more important than ever
