I have a domain that I bought from Godaddy that is several years old.
I've been feeding it backlinks for a while and when I load it into TrafficTravis to check its rankings, it's not ranking anywhere for anything up to 200 in any of the 2 main engines and it's not showing as having any backlinks or anything. It's showing as having a domain authority of 12 with an avg of 29 pages indexed in Google and none in Bing or Yahoo.

However, a new domain only about 5 months old is ranking in bing and yahoo for several keywords and is showing as having 0 backlinks, but then shows the Top 5 backlink links.

None of this is making sense.

    Any idea whats happening?

Have you made sure the backlinks have been indexed? Try using ahrefs, in my experience it is very accurate.

aHrefs shows 3.8k links. Obviously a huge difference.
But im still not ranking for any one of 349 keyword strings in 3 engines.

Id LOVE to use ahrefs buts $80 a month is steep right now but damnit if TT isn't even worth the $99 I paid for it for a year. Pretty frustrated.

OP, First confirm me you're having a domain or site? If its just a domain without hosting and content. Then how it can be ranked?

If its a site, then look out for few check ups to your site. On site SEO and Off site SEO.
Which kind of backlinks you've built if it was spam, then now a days SEO has a lot more changed.
The spammy tactics doesn't work now that was working in the past.

I also notice something strange about TT, but in the keyword research. Maybe you should check with some other software?

Yes, first you need to let us know this or turn the domain into a website with content. Another thing you should do is test to see if the domain has been sandboxed, de-indexed, or blacklisted by Google's servers. Did you buy the domain new, on auctions, or from another source?

There is a thing I have seen knocking around on here where you can chip to for a shared ahrefs account.

It could be that Google has punished the site in the past, because someone used it for spamming purposes... You better check with a place like majestic to check what kind of back links the site has.

First if all, use Majestic and ahrefs to check the backlinks.

Suggestion: Power up your tier 1 backlinks with GSA/SENUKEX to get them indexed.

This is for a full ecommerce site with about 60 products so far and I'm about to add another 500 products to it.
I use Scrapebox and GSA SER.
I also did sign up for a $15mo shared Ahrefs account and still waiting for my log in details.

    Ok, this is really wierd
I just checked the site on majesticseo and it shows 12,500 links but also said this.

    Page Title N/A Redirect
    URL Searched For http://www.mydomain.com/
URL Last Crawled 25 Jun 2014
    Last Crawl Result HTTP_301_PermanentRedirect
It shows that its redirecting to itself?

    Anyone know whats going on?

it sounds like you are really concerned about the quantity of backlinks. well, i got news for you. its not 2004 any more. today quality wins over quantity.
so why is your site not ranking? because you are throwing thousands and thousands of low quality, garbage gsa backlinks at it.

No, I was trying to find out why Traffic Travis wasn't finding any at all, yet these other sites are finding different numbers of them.
    I know how BL's work

Now I'm trying to find out why all this redirect stuff is showing up and whether or not the domain I bought was ruined. It's like an 8 year old domain.
