Thanks for the link. I was wondering how some people had a picture of themselves in the search results

    Depends on my vpn
I had considered this, but then dropped the plan. My pages are static and very rarely I change their content. My domain name is a long one,(competitors have similar names too) and it is difficult for people to remember it, which is good as they won't remember it, and visit it again tomorrow. :D

Disadvantage of the author photo is:

People tend to remember photos more then any domain name or title.

So, the next time they search for my keyword, they will see my pic and say... "hey, this is the same site, having that same content, lets not go there to read the same stuff again"

I have spent hours now trying to get this to work so would really appreciate any insight you have. Very frustrated. I basically put in the code as Google described in a sidebar text widget which means the google plus button shows up on every page. I verified in their rich snippets test that my authorship is verified. I did that two weeks ago. The photo never shows up in the search results although google keeps showing me how it will look in that testing feature.

SO now I just changed how the code is put in per the instructions on this and other places using the <a href=?http://www.xxxxxxx.com/jill-whalen? rel=?author?>My Name</a>

DO I still have to put this in every post with my name as the author such as in the example you described? Can i Just paste the link with the rel=author part as hyper link? I am trying to avoid putting any HTML code in the posts and pages themselves. MY WP Admin I had used was a bit sketchy and somehow he put programming code into the posts themselves and if I touch any of that it blows up the whole site.

I saw a video with Matt cutts showing how we can just put in the code into the hyper link to avoid the whole HTML thing. I tested it and they do work but I have done with just saying "Google plus my site here" as the anchor text, DO I have to put my actual name?

Thanks - sorry for the long thing here but I could use some help.

Follow: Option 2. Link your content to your Google Profile, and vice versa (Steps 1 & 2):
    Code:
    http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1408986

The 2 ways to link your content to your Google Profile are:
add the Google Profile icon (simplest) and manual link to your Google Profile; and both involve HTML. Use one or the other.

    Also see:
    Author information not appearing:

Thanks. I still do not get exactly what I am doing wrong. I followed option #2 and put that HTML code with the google plus button on the side bar so it appears on every single page (The code gets auto generated for you when you go to the google site that allows you to just put in your google plus profile)

I see in the testing tool that I am verified. It says :"Verified: Authorship markup is verified for this page."

It shows a preview of my home page and how it should appear in the serps with my photo. But I also see this on the rich snippet data extraction:
    Warning: Missing required field "updated".
    Warning: Missing required hCard "author".

And When I do a google search though on my main domain the photo does not appear.

Again if someone knows what those "warnings" are about and how to fix that I'd appreciate it. Do I have to perhaps put this on every page?

At this point if someone knows a good WP admin I could hire and just pay to fix this and look at the HTML code on all pages I'd appreciate it. Thanks!!!!

Just think about making a fake Google profile for a review website + rating stars and this will be a killing. You can get trust + high CTR. Nice

My real one. Yes I know it's seem crazy but it is actually me with my photo. :)

The only other thing is that I do use my "pen name" on the user profile for my actual money site. DO I have to change that to my exact name on my google profile? There's also a "website" field in the user profile of the money site. Perhaps I have to put the google plus profile URL In there too?

I already have put the money site url in the "contributor" field so no problem there

Do I have to put "By (My name)" on every post to make this work? If so can I JUST insert the part of the HTML code that has my google plus profile and the rel=author part inside the anchor text which of course would be my full name?

Again at this point If I can just get someone who has good WP experience on teh phone to go into my site and review this it might be easier. we can work out me giving you rep or whatever as a fair exchange. I also have tons of e-books and materials on dating and seduction having spent 5 years studying all that. Yes it really works even for guys in relationships or married there is invaluable stuff and I am happy to share what I learned from it and continue to learn.

    Thanks
    Frustrated noobie

The warnings are caused because Google requires properly marked meta-information elements (hAtom microformat).

Enough of techno-jargon; you basically need to modify the Wordpress theme using the Editor and add the relevant code. Here's how you do it:
    Code:
    http://technotes.khitrenovich.com/fix-missing-required-fields-warnings-rich-snippets-testing-tool/
    http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/add-rich-snippets-reviews-wordpress-blog/
    More info:
    Code:
    http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=99170
    http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=1d3071082eb0d91e&hl=en

    http://webstutorial.com/warning-missing-required-field-entry-title-missing-required-field-updated-missing-required-hcard-author/featured

Each post on your blog/site should have a link to your google profile (for simplicity, this could be in the footer, header or sidebar, for example). Each link should have the rel=author tag. Also, there should be a link back from your Google profile to the site.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I will have to share this with a WP admin since I am really not good with code but again I think this will be extremely helpful.
