    Hey guys...

    I really need your help!

I am banging my head against a brick wall here as something just doesnt make bloody sense to me...

I am willing to tell you my keywords, etc. just to get some help...

I have a site ranking between 11th and 18th for the search term "Spyware Blockers"

Now, according to Google and all the keyword tools this term gets between 3,000,000 and 5,000,000 (yes million) searches a month, yet I hardly get any bloody traffic to my site...

If I get 20 uniques per day its a lot... I just cannot understand this!

Surely if 5,000,000 people search for this a month if even 0,1% of them click to the second page I should at least see 50,000 visitors per month, or am I just being optimistic here?

    THe site is
    Code:
    http://www.antiaffliction.com
Dudes, your help in this regard would be highly appreciated!

Then, there is another one of my sites in the Beat Making niche...

I am ranking between 1 and 4 for a term that gets me over 1000 uniques per month, yet in over a year I have not made ONE sale...

I have changed the site so many times to try and figure out what the hell is happening, yet nothing...

It looks really shit right now coz i have given up on it...

    Its
    Code:
    http://www.make-online-beats.com
What am I doing wrong here?

If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd be forever grateful!

    Thanks,

    Ruoall

If you're not on the first page of google you'll be lucky to get ten people a year.

I'm also not sure what your site is about, there's no call to action. If you're trying to sell a product you need to say it because I don't even see a purchase now button and most people are only going to give your site 5 seconds of looking before they leave.

yeah, your beatmaking site talks about a great program to make beats online, but it doesnt appear to be selling or offering such a program. it just talks about it and shows a vid (which is great), but it doesnt appear to be selling anything. if you are selling something then it is pretty much invisible to the viewer. no one is going to hunt for it deep within the site. it has to be obvious.

    Thanks dude...

Yes I know there is no call to action at the moment on the Beats one...

I changed it, will go back to previous version soon...

I don't however agree with your first statement regarding the first page mate...

I have a site that doesnt even rank on google and gets met at least 50 - 100 visits per day...

    Thanks for your comments though,

When Google says 5,000,000 it doesn't mean for the keyword "spyware blockers", it means for "spyware blockers" and it's child pages.

If you check "best spyware blockers" you will notice that it gets around 210 searches a month. The 210 search number contributes to the 5,000,000 number you see for "spyware blockers".

So what this means is you need to write rich content whichc desbribes spyware blockers. A great way to do this is by creating an FAQ page, that way you can try and think about the type of questions or querys people will type into google.

Then, obviously, you need to vary your anchor text for long tails. Article marketing is good for this.

    Kind Regards

I think what you're talking about above is broad or phrase keyword not exact keyword.

I'm also interested in your question. But I found your page is not on the first page. It's on 2nd page.

Market Samurai only scrapes its data from Google's keyword tool. Garbage in, garbage out.

And yes, it does say 5 million EXACT searches for "Spyware Blockers" in the Google keyword tool. "Spyware blocker", singular get 5400 EXACT searches/month according to the same tool.

This only goes to show that no keyword tool, even Google's, is ever accurate. And we should all target multiple keywords instead of just the big one.

I can feel you OP. I experience the same thing in some of my niches although the number isn't as huge as that.

Please don't be spreading non-sense. This is absolutely incorrect, and you're only making yourself look bad by answering as such.

Very good answer. It's all about the LSI's.

There's another issue at play here, that someone was on the verge of bringing up. Google keyword results are inaccurate, and incomplete. This is good news and bad news. It's good news because there are some hidden gems out there that are still un-tapped. It's bad news because we're back to really not being able to trust the results. I have my suspicions that people are gaming the results too, but sending fake search traffic to the SE's to inflate insignificant keywords thereby distracting from the gems.

So how do you tell? Well I don't have a good answer for that. Article view count is a good indicator (SOMETIMES), and if you see an article on the first page, that bodes even better.

But many times I've seen keywords that show hundreds of thousands of monthly searches for the phrase, and open up a top ranking article only to find a handful of views after being there for like a month. CLEARLY somebody's messing with something.

Obviously Google stored incorrect searches for this keyword.
Lets compare "spyware blockers" to "cars"

"spyware blockers" = ~6millions searches/mo and 124 kilo Competition Sites
    "cars" = ~20millions searches/mo and 529 millions Competition Sites

Compare 2 results and think again, does this result make sense? For me, there is something wrong with the result.

Ok, to convince you more, go to
    Code:
    http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com
and search for "spyware blocker", no result at all, meaning not enough data for the keyword. FYI, word tracker is collecting and storing all keyword data in their own server, it's another great and independent tool to check if any keyword data is correct.
