I had surgery for pilonidal sinus about a week back and today was the 4th dressing and it still effin hurts like the first time. I’m reconsidering having done the surgery itself but the worst case scenario is that the sinus develops branches and multiplies. Surgeon keeps telling me to take regular ass pain killers but it’s obviously useless and since it isn’t a major OP, they don’t recommend the good stuff. The pain gets worse after every dressing session as they have to sanitize the sinus and clear it (meaning picking and prodding at the wound site).
Not to mention that I now have to work lying down on the bed as I can’t sit down on my butt anymore. I’ve been falling asleep at random hours as a result of this.
Apparently I have to endure two more weeks of this with scheduled dressings every two days. He has also recommended that I use hair removal creams to prevent recurrence over the long run. One of the cons of having excessive body hair ig. Not a thread asking for medical suggestions but simply a rant. Hope y’all are having a better weekend than I am.
