Hi,

I've been growing a page that is quite exclusive to UK based users, it has just over 44,000 that is very active in terms of people liking photos and status'

Any advice would be appreciated

I dont have good experience with usual topics, because nowadays people are liking your page because of that topic and if you want to sell them something they immediately starting to unlike your page... My advice is to start blog about your topic, love of the city and then put news on your facebook page, you will have decent traffic on your blog and there you can put some ads...

I've been getting fans to optin to my list based on the topic, for example "cute dogs" and sending them newsletter style emails that relate to dogs, and having a featured product listed in the email. It doesn't always get orders, but it does occasionally, but I've yet to get anyone unsubscribing since I always only post relating to the topic.

In your case, since it's "City" based, you can still consider having them opt-in for notification for coupons and discounts from companies within that local city. People love to get discounts on stuff, and if you can offer them that as incentive for joining your list, you could get quite a few of those 44k signing up to your list. Just make sure you actually deliver on your promise and only mail them once a week or so, and you should be fine.

If you want to increase the number of fans post a shitload amount of images of that city, "secret" places that only locals know are always a good way to get ppl's attention. If you want to monetize it, I dont really know, same prob here.

if you want to monetize it with an app or website add me on skypr

Make a blog / wp blog and every picture you upload include your website url in it. Chuck some Adsense or CPA on it.

signup for amazon.co.uk affiliate program and post affiliate links to weird products on amazon....people will click those links out of curiosity and you'll get commissions.. :)

Tell local businesses about your site and offer them advertising packages.
