This may be the dumbest question ever, but what is the benefit from having a .edu e-mail address? Thanks for any help.

Free Amazon Prime with a valid email address....plus educational pricing on software.

But for me the best feature is the ability to open accounts on forums for profiles...having an edu (from an ivy league) gives me a lot more creditability.

Thanks, this is a great share (although govspace doesn't allow creating blogs and posting)
