One of my clients websites just disappeared from google for 1 of its keywords overnight. Although the other keywords for that site remains the same.

I just want to know: Should I be worried? I've been doing SEO for a few months and never actually had this happen. Was this website "sandboxed" or something?

    I appreciate all answers!

no need to worry as it has happened to me before. You should worry if you do not see it in 3 days in the serps.

If it was just ONE keyword, I would not worry. I would probably be concerned if it doesn't bounce back in a few days. That being said, negative SEO is also keyword specific, which means competitors usually focus on hurting one keyword at a time. Take a look at the link profile, make sure nobody pointed bad links with that anchor text. Otherwise, keep up building good links for that keyword.

I've just been doing manual link building on PR4+ targeting all terms in the anchors + generic terms like "click here" and "visit this site". This particular website is almost a year old. The other important terms/keywords are on page 4 (high competition kw) and 3 (medium competition kw), and another 2 on page 1. All slowly climbing over the past few weeks.

Another update by the way: It just went back to page 5. Google seems to be uncertain of what it likes the past few days xD
