I'm first page for my keyword, and the 5th site on that page.

Google Keyword analytic is saying that there is 3600 search a month ( so about 120 a day). Is it normal that I only have MAXIMUM 4 visitors a day from that keyphrase?

My website is brand new, 1 month old.

    Thanks for your consideration.

3600 Broad or exact searches per month. Check again in the google keyword tool

Even if exact it's going to depend on the query. Just as an example, if it's a brand name, the vast majority are going to click on the official site. Also, be sure you aren't skewing your results with location based/search history based preferences.

Once you check all of the above, look at your description and (maybe) title tag to increase your clickthrough. I have a thread in the white hat forum about this. Do not change the title if you feel it will compromise your ranking. Good luck.

Well, to be honest mate first position site often takes about 55% of the traffic, second 30% so there is not so much traffic left for other sites. And also, google KW tool is certainly not accurate.

I have one webiste on 1st place for KW that have around 30K searches per month according to KW tool and I`m getting like 3K visits monthly...

I've just looked again. Global monthly searches : 3600

The competition is not so good since i'm #5 with only 15 backlinks on Yahoo.

And no, my keyword is not a brand name.

I guess the best way to increase traffic is to imporve my SEO and grab #1 spot and rank well for some other keywords.

Searches per month X CTR for given position(as a percentage) X Impression share(as a percentage)

    Eg
    1000 searches x impression share is 42% for Rank #1(.42) x CTR for position 1 is 15%(.15)

    Your estimated traffic is 1000x.42 = 420 x .15 = Traffic you can expect

I had this same experience. On Google Adwords tool on the lower left there is a checkbox. Select the exact. One time I made this critical error. I got 3500 searches per month, hammered the SEO got ranked #1 never saw a visitor, went in figured out I should check Exact match, low and behold <10 searches per month. If you have a three or four word word for instance like weight loss diet pills it seems like Google returns a much higher search count but none of them are searching for [weight loss diet pills] they are searchinf for like weight loss from diet pills weight loss with diet pills etc, which you DON'T rank for.

I guess I need to rank very good for other keywords to get good traffic.

    Thanks guys

Also remember to turn of personalized search if you list your ranking directly from a G search!

Yes a lot of newbies make mistakes while selecting keywords. Always check how many "exact" searches it gets for that particular keyword Even sometimes i ask suggestions on this forum where to go for that keyword or not.

Just search for some other keywords and try to rank for it.

Yes sure. I use traffic travis for the ranking.

But I just dropped to top of the second page.

I guess it is Google Dance.

Anyway, I'll have to make some change on my Onsite Optimisation.

The thing is that I checked on Traffic Travis also to see the traffic for my keyword and it says more than 100 a day only from google.

    Thats weird.
