302 Page hijack - How to? NEED HELP

I have been reading about 302 page hijacks quite a bit lately.

For the people on here that know how to do it....do I place a 302 redirect in my .htaccess file?

Like:

The thing is, with this code, won't it go to their site, rather than hijacking it and going to mine?


Let me know your thoughts and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it will go to theirs, you are issuing a 302 (moved temporarily) and saying their site is the destination.

If you want to pull their site on to your URL you can frame it.

A 302 hijack doesn't always happen, it only occurs under very specific circumstances. If you 302 yoursite.com to anothersite.com Google's correct behavior is to show anothersite.com because as the 302 rightly says anothersite.com is the destination hence no hijack occurs and you achieve nothing.

The very limited times it "does" happen is when the destination URL is a pile of crap that's longer, contains variables etc and Google takes it upon themselves to show the first URL in the chain because they think it's better for the user.

So what exactly are you hoping to achieve by doing this?

How is this used for CL re-directs?

This stuff still works? How about google bombs? Those were the days...

Every single algorithm update I head about mentioned google bombs and paid links but nothing about 302 redirects. They must have been working on that stuff for years so I guess I wouldn't be suprised if they haven't fixed yet. There, answered my own question - thanks Spazzy.

But seriously, timestimes, you shouldn't be reading outdated stuff like that. Unless you really know what you're doing.
