So I built an affiliate site in the apparel space.

Mostly pushing to amazon and other CJ affiliates.

It was supposed to be a completely whitehat/content driven website so I threw out a lot of the basic rules of SEO, or just didn't pay attention.
I basically let my guard down

Anyway I think I got a slap for keyword stuffing
Basically if one page is selling Hawaiian shirts

I would have 150-400 words of hand written real content telling where to get the best price
then I list the links and colors
so there could be 50 links labeled blue Hawaiian shirt, red Hawaiian shirt, yellow ect
So keyword density for Hawaiian shirt is OFF the charts high

The site was ranking fantastic for long tail keywords and went to 10k visitors it's second month with me just adding content part time on my own.
Then traffic dropped about 80% and stayed there for exactly 60 days. Recently it came back and the traffic went up to where it was before and actually even higher.

Then the faucet got shut off again only a week or so later.

So I'm guessing I earned my second slap because I didn't change the site.
I am thinking if I fix the content issue, and 301 redirect all the pages

I was thinking if the domain is http://www.hawaiianshirts.com I would 301 everything to http://hawaiianshirts.com

Let me know if you think this will work and how to 301 all the pages as quickly as possible. Got about 200 indexed pages. I am sure I could manually do it, but if I work with a client with 50k pages I'd need some sort of automation.

    Thanks Guys

I was reading on this forum that by doing 301 redirects their new website was on first page but after 2 weeks they got a big fall not even in 1000......

Thats because the penalty would eventually pass to the new site. But doing a 301 from a site that was hit by the EMD update to a new site is still unknown.
