So I bought two PR2, 2+yrs aged domains and redirected it to my new money sites but when I check the domain age and PR couple of days later, it's showing my new money sites as 18 days old. What did I do wrong here or am I missing something?

Did you make sure the sites were still indexed by google when you bought them? If the sites were deindexed for expiring and then reindexed I could see your problem happening. Most of the expiring domains on godaddy are deindexed already. The ones that aren't usually have the godaddy splash page on them when you try to visit them and I don't know how goog deals with that when they see the site as all godaddy expired notice pages.

I checked that and made sure they were indexed before purchasing. My only guess is to think that I didn't do the redirect quickly enough. Does that even matter? Should I have done the redirect prior to purchasing my new money sites? For instance, aged domain is www(dot)xyz(dot)com, and I know that my EMD is www(.)abc(.)com and is available, so should I purchase www(.)xyz(.)com first, then quickly redirect it to www(.)abc(.)com? Then I will go purchase www(.)abc(.)com?

I don't want to make the same mistake again. Thanks

I'm not sure man, sounds like a PM for Bobbylove321. He seems to be the in-house expert on 301s. If you haven't read his post about it, you can read it here:
