    Hi guys,

I could use someones help who has experience with 301 redirects. This is my first time using the 301 redirect method to recover a site of mine that was hit by the last google update. I have already copied over the site to a new domain and my question is, should I redirect all of my inner pages to the new sites home page? Or would it be better if I redirected the inner pages to the new inner pages that are on the new domain? Any advice at all would be much appreciated.

Which ever makes the most sense. It's better to 301 redirect existing pages to their new counterparts but if there's no best match, just 301 redirect to homepage.

Agreed with James..If you recover from penalty , you would want to add PBN links to the new domains as well. Do not use the same PBN that you use on that domain you got hit.

I match pages on old domains to pages on new domains while redirecting if the pages are receiving a decent amount of traffic. Otherwise, I 301 everything to the homepage.

Since OP said his 301s are coming from a penalty, when should he stop the redirects to the new pages so that the penalty won't be passed to the new domain?

Go with page for page. You want to 'clone' the site that got hit, not just the homepage right? Innerpages were likely to rank if it ranked good, so definitely go page for page. It's not like a spam 301 where you just 301 the homepage and you're set.
