I have a client that i have done 2 months of SEO for a stupidly low price to get him on board.

He has now decided to put it on hold. He says he can hopefully take it back up in the near future but i think he may just be saying that.

Anyway i have his site now ranking on page 1 and 2 for all keywords. It would be a shame for me to just dump this.

I have 2 options. Create a new site and direct the PBN links to it or redirect the clients site to the newly created site.

Now i am not familiar with 301 redirects much. If i choose this path will it deindex or destroy the clients site?

Also say if i decide to redirect and the client comes to me in a few months time to restart the seo, can i just cancel the redirect and everything is ok and powering client site again?

I'd redirect them for sure, and if the client comes back to you PO'd— let him know that SEO is an ongoing process and that a continued investment is needed to ensure his rankings maintain.

Unless you have another angle for that persons positive opinion other than a paycheck of course.

Personally, I'd burn the links to the ground before I'd let a discounted-price-getting-A-hole get 1st page results and then drop my a**. Admittedly, I don't do much client SEO though....

I told you months ago to always aim your SEO work to a 301 you control not direct to the clients website so if they stop the sub you turn the 301 off until they drop. When they come back either let them resub, add some "admin fee" or increase your prices and aim the 301 back at their site.
